20+ year record collector with some cool new stuff coming soon on eBay! Please check my other auctions or sale listings!
You are bidding on one of the rarest albums out there. It is 2 LP set by The Beatles called "The Beatles" (AKA "The White Album") on Apple Records.
THIS IS THE EXTREMELY RARE COMPRESSED VERSION!!!
ONLY 1 OR 2 COPIES KNOWN TO EXIST!!!
Not many were pressed with this version!
What happened was, this first version was mastered using a certain Limiter which ended up compressing the sound. As a result, the lows and highs (bass and treble) were increased. George Harrison heard a copy of this master, thought it sounded terrible and insisted that all 33 lacquers be destroyed immediately. However, a few had already been shipped out and sold! THIS IS ONE OF THEM!
THE MATRIX (OR DEAD WAX) NUMBERS TO LOOK FOR READ "A" OR "B" WITH ANY NUMBERS FROM "1" THROUGH "33" RIGHT NEXT TO IT (ex. "A26").
THE MATRIX (OR DEAD WAX) NUMBERS FOR THIS COPY ARE "SWBO 1-101-A28" FOR SIDE 1; "SWBO-2-101-B28 #2" FOR SIDE 2; "SWBO-3-101-A28" FOR SIDE 3 AND "SWBO-4-101-B29" FOR SIDE 4. ALL FOUR ALSO HAVE THE "IAM" TRIANGLE LOGO.
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THE MIXES ON THIS ALBUM ARE EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE "CORRECTED" REMASTERED HARRISON VERSION WE ALL KNOW AND LOVE. IT IS THE MASTERING THAT IS DIFFERENT, THEREFORE THE DIFFERENCES ARE SUBTLE. APPARENTLY TWO OF THE BEST SONGS TO TEST THE DIFFERENCES ARE "HELTER SKELTER" AND "LONG LONG LONG" DUE TO THEIR RISE AND FALL IN VOLUME.
SIDE 1'S LABEL READS "BUNGALOW BILL", INSTEAD OF "THE CONTINUING STORY OF BUNGALOW BILL". SIDE 4'S LABEL READS "REVOLUTION NO. 1" AND "REVOLUTION NO. 9", INSTEAD OF "REVOLUTION 1" AND "REVOLUTION 9".
Please note that I proudly use the latest Perry Cox Beatles price guide for grading and reference.
NOTE:
The grades I use are Mint (rarely used grade), Mint Minus, VG+++ (rarely used grade), VG++, VG+, VG, VG Minus, Good+, Good, Fair and Poor.
The cover I would rate as Good+ to VG Minus condition. Cover has much wear. Someone wrote "STORY" in faint pencil under the embossed title. There is a small tear on the front, top-right where a price sticker was probably removed. Front cover's top is completely split but is held together with clear tape. Front cover also has a 3" split on the bottom-right. Back cover is completely split on top. Spine is actually almost completely intact with some staining. No four photos or poster. You could replace it with a better cover but I don't do that. This was the cover that the records came in. Number on front cover is "A1527805".
I would rate both records condition as VG to VG+. That is a real conservative grade. Records really play nice on my player! There are sections with surface noise, but it is infrequent. There are a couple of minor surface scratches that do not affect anything (most are on Record Two). Still shiny and glossy! Labels have some photo glare on pictures. They are real clean! THIS IS RARE IN ANY CONDITION!!!
DON'T MISS OUT ON OWNING A UNIQUE PIECE OF BEATLES RECORDED HISTORY!!!
Makes a great gift for any Beatles collector, LP fan or yourself!
