Description
Original 1965 UK Mono 1st Pressing 'Help' by The Beatles. UK 1st Press Quality Pressed Thick & Chunky Vinyl -2//-2 1st Press Matrix with 1st Press KT Embossed Tax Codes!!! Complete w/ Beautiful Thickly Laminated 1st Press Garrod & Lofthouse Mono Sleeve!!! This Plays Through with Very Little of the Loud Constant Crackle Normally Associated with 1960's Mono Beatles LP's. Complete w/ Correct Emitex Inner Sleeve!
You are bidding on THE ORIGINAL EARLIEST 1965 UK Mono 1st Pressing (-2//-2 Matrix) of The Beatles 'Help'! However, what makes this 1st pressing even more special its superb aural condition!! I cannot begin to stress how amazing this record plays; when I put this on my Mitchell for the first time it completely blew me away. The contrast of the loud raw mono mix coupled with virtual silence between tracks (virtually no background crackle) is truly breathtaking and SO rare for a mono 1st press Beatles Album. This is how they sounded back in the 1960's from new!!! Anyone who says constant loud obtrusive crackle is unavoidable in old Beatles Mono 1st press records is wrong; it is not, and this record is proof. It has obviously never seen one of the horrible blunt mono needles of the 1960's that used to tear through the grooves destroying the imprint and forever leaving horrible crackle and visible dull groove-wear. This record has obviously never been subjected to the crude systems of the 1960's

The Classic Yellow & Black 1st press Parlophone centre labels are in great condition!!! They have NO Tears, NO Scribbles. NO lifting or Bubbling and NO unwanted writing of any kind to whatsoever - just the normal spindle lines on both sides as you would expect. Like I said above, most of these Mono 1st pressings were played to death in the 1960's and only turn up today full of scratches with a dull sheen and totally worn out. This one is NOT and the record stills retains a beautiful glass-like sheen with NO dulling and NO nasty greying of the grooves. The record does have a few light hairlines but plays beautifully with none of the constant background crackle and certainly NO skips or jumps. Although this has none of that nasty constant background crackle there are one or two hairlines that result in the odd isolated patch of pops. There is a hairline that results in a few light pops between tracks I Need You and Another Girl. There is also some isolated crackle on the run-ins to Side 2 and between the tracks Its Only Love & You Like Me Too Much. This record, although not Mint, has survived remarkably well and is certainly one of the better 1st press Mono copies I have seen. However I WILL NOT fall into the trap of over-grading to compensate for age and the record must PROPERLY grade as Excellent-. Believe me this record is NOT over-graded in ANY way!!! The original 1st press Mono Garrod & Lofthouse laminated flipback sleeve has no major issues. It has the outlined Mono text in the top right corner and the correct pinched spine ends. It has retained all it stiffness and has NO Tears and NO Seam Wear At All!!! The laminate is breathtaking, it still glistens and almost looks wet in appearance! There is none of the usual laminate cracking to the spine (or anywhere else!) and virtually NO laminate creasing at all (there are just one or two insignificant tiny oxbow type creases). The opening edge is Razor Sharp with NONE of the feathering that normally blights these old Garrod & Lofthouse flipback sleeves!!! There are NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind!. There is just one major spine crease in the middle that partly obscured the 'e' of Beatles in the spine text; one a minor point but worth mentioning. The reverse flipback side is in very good condition. It has NONE of the unwanted scribbles or writing that are usually found here. The flipbacks are nice and tight with the only issue being a few patches that have lightly yellowed over time, mainly in the bottom left corner. This sleeve easily grades as a Excellent- if not better!!! Believe me, like all our other records this is in no way over-graded!!! The LP comes with its Original correct UK 1st press 'Emitex' poly-lined windowed inner sleeve which is perfectly flat with no writing/scribbles etc, no creases and no separation of the inner poly-lining, just some light browning. Please check out our feedback and bid with confidence as this is a no reserve auction with a very low starting price! I have tried to show you the record from all angles using extra large images. If you are not sure of anything just email me - I will be happy to help. Don't underestimate the rarity of this LP - finding a UK test pressing of anything by Nick Drake is impossible today; Good Luck!
Please read - It has recently been pointed out to me that some eBay sellers have been using my images without permission. If you are thinking of lifting some images from my pages - please don't. You will be reported and your auction will be removed by eBay. It's not that I mind, in fact its kinda flattering, my real problem is that whoever does this is not showing a true image of the actual record they are selling. The condition of old 1960's & 70's records varies greatly, no two are in exactly the same condition when they are this age. All my pictures are very specific to the actual records I sell and it is wholly misleading to to show these images with reference to a different record - whoever does this is not being fair to the buyer. Thanks for reading.
I will be selling my entire UK 1st Press collection of 1960/70's Psych/Prog./Beat/Rock & Folk over the coming months, most of these records are in Mint- condition, many having 3 figure book prices. All will be listed here on eBay UK, most with a £2.99 start and No Reserve - bookmark my pages. Like the vast majority of my collection, this record has been archived upright in a thick outer PVC sleeve in a smoke & damp free environment since purchase!
All my records have No reserve, a Low Start and No Surcharges!
***Please note when looking at these images - like 99.9% of all the records I offer this vinyl will be totally unmarked unless stated otherwise in the description above. If you see faint lines or shadows on the playing surfaces it is just the reflection of either my blind pulls or telephone wires outside the window*** HJ

Postage ... Hazey Jane has absolutely NO hidden surcharges; the price you win is the price you pay, just add the relevant postage, it's as simple as that! We always combine postage so if you win more than 1 auction you save money on postage costs! We will only ship to non-UK countries via Airmail - we do not use surface mail, it is way too slow and thus increases the risk of records being damaged during transit.
A little note about insurance - Please read carefully... If the value of your record(s) is over £30, your invoice will include an insured option. Being the responsible adults you are, it is entirely up to you to take this up - we strongly advise you to do this but will not hassle you about it. You either add the required insurance or you don't. If you do add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will get a refund. If you don't add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will not get a refund. Can we be any clearer? I think not.

Refunds & Feedback ... Please read this carefully ... We try to give you the best quality examples of rare records available. However, there will always be somebody out there whose expectations far exceed UK record collector grading standards. If you are in anyway unsatisfied with your record or our grading of it please refer to the UK Record Collector Grading Chart very carefully BEFORE emailing us. We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards. This will very rarely, if ever, happen. We will not be impressed with buyers disputing our gradings without even bothering to check the UK record collector grading standards chart first - you have been warned ...
Buyers who continually Haggle, Whine and Moan to try to decrease the price they won their auctions for will be blocked from bidding on future auctions and can toodle off down to HMV or Virgin where they can harass the counter staff there.
We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback. In an ideal world we would like to leave feedback as soon as the record has been shipped but due to feedback blackmail in the past (i,e, ",,,I want a partial refund or I will leave negative feedback") we have opted to take this measure. Contact must be made within 3 days of winning the auction. If payment has not been received after 10 days a non paying bidder alert will be placed. If payment is then not received within 7 days Negative feedback WILL be left and the buyer WILL be given a strike by eBay. Thanks for reading.
