BEATLES UK – original Sgt Pepper & Abbey Rd LPs - mispress.

Sgt Pepper - PMC 7027 – original black and yellow Mono Parlophone labels.

A UK first press Mono copy, featuring:

1. the front of the card sleeve has an unusual ‘lighter’ blue colour sky !,

2. the ‘stampers’ on the vinyl on side two have been stamped over a number of times, see photo, making it not possible to read the ‘stampers’,

3. the line of text on label one shows ‘Sold in .U.K.’ etc, ie it has an additional ‘dot’ before the letter ‘U’ !. This additional ‘dot’ does not appear on label two.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent condition, the sleeve is fully laminated. The spine is in excellent condition, strong and firm, and all the text is clear to read. When the gatefold sleeve is opened the original exposed top two flipbacks can be seen. There are NO stains, tears, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

THE CARD INSERT: the green cardboard cut-out insert is NOT present.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition and is the period red and white EMI advertising sleeve. Theres NO tears, stains, stickers or sticker residue. There is a cellotape repair to one of the side edges and on one side there is a name and the albums title written in blue pen.

THE VINYL: is in excellent++ condition, it is made from the period ‘thick’, heavy vinyl, it has remained very dark and glossy and appears to have received very little play. Under normal daylight conditions it is difficult to see any marks on the playing surfaces. Towards the outside edge of the record the vinyl does not lay completely flat on the turntable, but this does not affect the audio. The matrix are 1 / 1.

THE AUDIO: is very good, I did hear some crackle and there was a ball of dust collecting on the needle !, the vinyl / audio would benefit from a professional clean.

THE LABELS: are in excellent++ condition, possibly a one or two plays only !, I cannot see any spindle marks at all !. The letters ‘K T’ are embossed around the spindle hole on side one. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

Abbey Road - 1969 PCS 7088 - apple record labels.

A UK early press album in 100% original condition, featuring:

1. on the record label on side two on the letter ‘H’ on the track ‘Here comes the Sun’, this letter ‘H’ appears to have been printed slightly smaller and appears not as bold as the rest of the text as if this letter ‘H’ has been printed in a different font !, this is the first label like this I have seen !.

2. on side two of the record label the track ‘Her Majesty’ is not printed nor is it printed on the rear of the sleeve, but the track DOES play on the record !

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good+ condition, the sleeve is laminated front and rear. The spine is in very good condition and all the text on the spine is clear to read. There are NO stains, pen writing, splits, tears, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent condition and is the original EMI plain white sleeve with the text ‘Patent Nos. 1,125,555’ on. There are NO tears, stains, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. 

THE VINYL: side one is in very good++ condition, side two is in very good condition. The vinyl is made from the period thick, heavy vinyl.  The Matrix is 2 / 1.

THE AUDIO: is excellent, there is little to spoil the listening pleasure an excellent playing copy. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: are in excellent+ condition. As this is an early pressing, side one shows a DARK Green Apple colour. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

PACKING  -  ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION.BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
