BEATLES UK – With the Beatles LP, ‘Decca’ ridged labels.

PMC 1206 – original  black and yellow Parlophone labels.

A UK album in 100% original condition featuring:

1. as newly phrased ‘Beatlemania’ swept throughout the UK  and into Europe in late 1963,   there was such a high demand for the group latest LP,  ‘With the Beatles’ EMI could not  cope with the demand so ‘Decca’ were called in to help with pressing these records. This is one of those ‘Decca’ pressings that has a distinctive ‘ridge’ each side of the record label,

2. the sleeve to the rear features the incorrect spelling of ‘Gotta’ for the track ‘You really got a hold on me’,  but on the record label on side two this track is spelt  ‘Got a’  hold on me !

3. as this is a ‘Decca’ pressing and not an EMI pressing the engraved mother/stampers on the record differ from an EMI pressing.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE:  is in excellent+ condition, the front is laminated. The spine is in excellent+ condition and has remained an excellent fresh white in colour and all the text can be read on the spine.  The rear of the sleeve has remained very clean and white in colour for its age.  The rear of the sleeve has the period tri flipback design. There are NO splits, tears, pen writing or stickers on the sleeve.  To the rear bottom right  there is the remains of what appears to be ‘tape residue’ it is unclear why this is there as the flipbacks are all in excellent condition and well stuck down.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent+ condition and is the original use ‘Emitex’ sleeve. An excellent and well preserved sleeve. The sleeve has NO pen writing, tears, splits, stains, stickers or sticker residue.

THE VINYL: is in very good++ condition, the vinyl has remained very dark and glossy. 

The matrix  nos. are:  XEX  447 7N  and  XEX  448 7N,

The Mother/Stampers are: as this is a ‘Decca’ pressing and not a pressing from EMI, the mother/stampers are different, side one just has the number ‘3’ as its ‘mother’ and on side two the number ‘1’ as its ‘mother’, there are NO ‘stampers’ engraved onto the run off as there would have been with an EMI pressing.

THE AUDIO: is very good, I heard very little crackle but I did hear some  light ‘ticks’  here and there. The vinyl lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS:  side one is in excellent condition, side two is in very good+ condition. As this is a Decca pressing there are NO letters embossed around the spindle holes. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
