LP "REVOLVER" by The BEATLES (Parlophone PMC 7009).
This is the original first UK mono issue of this classic Beatles album, which was withdrawn after approximately 1 week, when it was discovered that the mix for Tomorrow Never Knows was not the one the Beatles and George Martin had sanctioned. Also known as the "XEX 606-1 issue", since the B-side has this number in the run-out groove (the A-side having XEX 605-2). Consequently, this issue is the ONLY one in the world to feature the rare, withdrawn mix (Take 11) of this classic closing track of what might well be the Fabs' finest album ever. The disc is in a superb condition, with only a minimum of hiss and pops, but NO scratches, jumps, or loud pops. It plays perfectly well and looks absolutely splendid. I would very conservatively describe this disc as EX+, with only a few very superficial scuffs, caused mainly by taking the disc out of its sleeve. It is definitely a keeper's copy! The sleeve is also in a very nice condition, though the top has a 2" seam split. The corners are very tight and the black back photo hasn't been "fingered" so much as most copies. A very small portion of the top left corner has the laminate come off. I'd say the cover is EX at least, were it not for the seam split (which has been repaired from the inside out with two tiny stickers). All in all, the best copy I've ever had on auction on eBay, and a VERY rare original UK edition indeed!
