BEATLES UK - Revolver LP – 606/1 Mono.

1966 PMC 7009 - Yellow & Black Parlophone Label.

An original UK  very first pressing in Mono in 100% original condition.

A very first pressing of this album that features the matrix 2 / 1 with the remix 11 of the song  ‘ Tomorrow never knows ’. The storey apparently goes that  John Lennon was not happy with the mix of the song ‘Tomorrow never knows’  but by then the record was being distributed into the shops.    The record was withdrawn and the correct mix  then used, the record as then  redistributed, this time  with the matrix of  2 / 2.

Apparently Mr Lennon did  not like the use of the abbreviation ‘Dr’ used for the title song  ‘ Doctor Robert ’, so again this was changed to read ‘Doctor’ , although somewhat  later,  but only on the record label, the change of the spelling ‘Doctor’  never made  it  on the rear of the sleeve !.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated.   The spine is very good and all the text is readable.    The sleeve features the original tri-flipback design.   There are  NO tears, stains, splits,   pen writing,  stickers or sticker residue.    There is some creasing to the front of the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE:  is in very good+ condition and is the original white ‘Patents Applied For’ sleeve, there are  NO tears, stains, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

THE VINYL:  is in  very good  condition,  it is made from the period thick, heavy vinyl.

The matrix are:   XEX  605 - 2  and   XEX 606 – 1  featuring the withdrawn mix of the song   ‘ Tomorrow never  knows ’,

The Mother/Stampers are:  ‘ 7    O G ’     and    ‘ 3    O A ’,

The record has  a sharp outer edge to  it.

THE AUDIO:   the audio is very good, it plays with a very strong, clear sound,   it plays with some crackle and the odd light  ‘tick’ in places.  The record plays without the needle sticking or jumping.

THE LABELS:  side one is in  very good+ condition, side two is in near excellent condition.    Side one has  the letters ‘ KT ’ embossed around the spindle hole.    As this is a very first pressing, the label on side two features the spelling of  ‘Dr’  Robert.
