Description

Absolutely Stunning Original 1965 UK Mono 1st Pressing 'Rubber Soul' by The Beatles. UK 1st Press Quality Pressed Thick & Chunky Vinyl 1st Press Matrix with Mega Rare 1st Press MT Embossed Tax Codes (Much Rarer Than KT). Complete w/ Beautiful Thickly Laminated 1st Issue Garrod & Lofthouse Flipback Sleeve!!! This is One Of The Best Looking Mono 1st Pressings I Have Seen in a Very Long Time!!!  A Beautiful Record That Has Barely Been Played -  Very Rare For Any Beatles 1st Pressing!!!

Here is another gem from my own mostly Nr Mint personal collection (which I am selling off gradually to lessen the pain...) I have been collecting very rare vinyl for a long time now. As a collector, I have been very critical about the condition of the records I have chosen to buy over the years, and only selected the most pristine 1st pressings I have found.  My collection is therefore filled with not only the rarest UK 1st pressings, but also records of the highest grade quality condition, some of the best you will probably ever come across. Sadly, most now have to find new homes. As I said, I am very strict with my grading, so when I describe a record as Nr Mint - you can rest assured that it will be a true Nr Mint record (I never grade any records as Mint because Mint does not exist unless you own a time machine and go back and bag a job in a 1960's record pressing plant!) This record is very special indeed!!!

You are bidding on THE  ORIGINAL UK Mono 1st Pressing of The Beatles 'Rubber Soul'! However, what makes this 1st pressing even more special is that it has the Mega Rare MT Tax codes!!! These tax codes were phased out long before this album was made, occasionally they turn up on UK 1st press copies of 'Help', but to find an embossed MT tax code on a Rubber Soul label is virtually impossible!!! I cannot begin to stress how amazing this record looks!!! It is in beautiful condition, from its virtually totally unblemished disc with impossible glass-like sheen and it's beautiful sleeve, right down to its correct original poly-lined 'Emitex' inner sleeve!!! To find an original MT pressing is hard enough, believe me. But to find one in this condition throughout like this is very hard indeed. It  is also one of the best playing copies I have heard in a long time! It plays beautifully with NONE of the constant loud crackle, no skips/jumps etc!!!! The contrast of the loud raw mono mix coupled with lack of loud crackling & hissing is truly breathtaking and SO rare for a mono 1st press Beatles Album. This is how they sounded back in the 1960's from new!!! Anyone who says constant loud crackle is unavoidable in old Beatles 1st press records is wrong, it is not, and this record is proof. It has only ever been played a handful of times before!!! It has obviously never seen one of the horrible blunt mono needles of the 1960's that used to tear through the grooves on the old 60's LP's destroying the imprint and forever leaving horrible crackle and visible dull groove-wear.  This is an absolutely essential record for any high-grade Beatles/Beat/Psych collection. Don't Miss!!!

1st Press Matrix & Stampers:

Side 1 - XEX 579-4 (4 GAT)

Side 2 -  XEX 580-4 (4 GAR)

This disc has all the deep shine a newly pressed record that as only ever been played a handful of times before!!!  Impossible for a MONO 1st press Beatles album!!! The record still retains ALL of its original gloss and shine and has NO dulling and NO nasty greying of the grooves!!! This kind of glass-like sheen is SO rare for original Beatles 1st press records as they almost always turn up with horrendous groove wear leading to a dull sheen. Once again, this one has the pristine glass-like sheen of a record that was pressed yesterday - very special indeed!!! There are just one or two wispy paperlines visible on each side and that's it!!!  I have no hesitation whatsoever with grading this vinyl as a strong Excellent+!!! Its as simple as that!!! It is that most elusive of things, a true UK Beatles Mono 1st pressing of 'Rubber Soul' with NO groove wear at all!!! (suitable for the highest grade  collection - you will not find a better example!!) Now we get to the Classic 1st press Yellow on Black centre labels, which are in stunning Ex+ condition with NO Tears, NO Peeling, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind (please see images below). There are only the faintest spindle lines from the record's few plays by the original owner.

The classic TRUE 1st issue thickly laminated flipback EJ Day sleeve is also in Stunning condition and easily grades as Excellent+++!!! Quite how it has remained in such beautiful condition when these sleeves virtually always turn up discoloured and trashed is a testament to the former owner's (and my!) archiving!!! As you all probably know, these true EJ Day 1st press front-only laminated flipback sleeves, with un-laminated backs, have suffered terribly over the years with discolouration, grubbyness, stains, writing and nicks, tears & rips. And when they do turn up nowadays, they are totally worn out-looking and lifeless with severe damage to the spine, with corner & edge wear, stains and ring wear (especially to the back). Suffice to say, these rare 1st press sleeves have not remained in prime condition over the years. THIS SLEEVE IS DIFFERENT!! There are NO scribbles/writing, marks or blemishes anywhere. The laminate looks superb and is in beautifully preserved condition retaining a beautiful crystal clear smooth glossy finish when you lightly run your hand over the front side!!! Importantly there is absolutely NO laminate cracking or peeling anywhere!!! The un-laminated flipback reverse side in fantastic unblemished condition with no writing/scribbles etc. It is absolutely superb!!! The white borders are also STUNNING!!! White and unblemished with NO grubbiness at all!!! All in all, a superb example of this legendary sleeve that easily grades as Excellent+++  at the very least!!!  It comes complete with its original 'Emitex' Inner sleeve which easily grades as Ex+++ with no serious issues such as stains or writing/scribbles, seam splits etc. Don't miss this auction - If you are a collector/investor, the price of this record will just rise and rise. An absolutely essential (and very rare) record to own in this complete and beautiful condition!!! Don't miss this one!!! Do not underestimate the rarity of this record in this kind of condition!!! UK 1st press copies in such stunning condition are as such is in very high demand today. If you have never heard it, you will not find another copy that plays more pristinely than this or looks prettier - it will blow you away!!! If you are a collector/investor, the price of this record will just rise and rise. This record would be an essential addition to any highest grade Mint- 1st press Beatles/Beat/Psych collection.  You will not see another like this for a very long time!!! Don't miss this one!!!

Refunds & Feedback ... Please read this carefully ... We try to give you the best quality examples of rare records available. However, there will always be somebody out there whose expectations far exceed UK record collector grading standards.  If you are in anyway unsatisfied with your record or our grading of it please refer to the UK Record Collector Grading Chart very carefully BEFORE emailing us. We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards. This will very rarely, if ever, happen. We will not be impressed with buyers disputing our gradings without even bothering to check the UK record collector grading standards chart first - you have been warned ...

Buyers who continually Haggle, Whine and Moan to try to decrease the price they won their auctions for will be blocked from bidding on future auctions and can toodle off down to HMV or Virgin where they can harass the counter staff there.

We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback. In an ideal world we would like to leave feedback as soon as the record has been shipped but due to feedback blackmail in the past (i,e, ",,,I want a partial refund or I will leave negative feedback") we have opted to take this measure. Contact must be made within 3 days of winning the auction. If payment has not been received after 10 days a non paying bidder alert will be placed. If payment is then not received within 7 days Negative feedback WILL be left and the buyer WILL be given a strike by eBay. Thanks for reading.
