The Beatles - 'The Beatles Million Sellers' E.P. GEP 8946
The Beatles 1965 1st UK pressing FACTORY SAMPLE DEMO of 'The Beatles Million Sellers' E.P. Released on the 6th December 1965, this version is the very rare 'Golden Discs' mis-pressing.
In 1964 an E.P had been planned which was going to contain the Beatles 'Gold Discs' up to that point. One year later and this E.P ('The Beatles Million Sellers') was the result of that planning. These first pressings actually have 'Golden Discs' printed on the vinyl labels and are housed within 'The Beatles Million Sellers' E.P cover. The track listing on both the vinyl labels and cover matches identically. After the first batch had been pressed EMI quickly spotted their mistake and reverted to the correct title on the cover AND the label. This of course, makes these copies from that first batch very collectable.
These initial early Factory Sample 1st pressings would have been given out to reviewers and radio stations prior to the actual release date. The vinyl features the 'Sold in the UK....' text and has 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd....' rim print. The 'KT' tax code is visible on the side 1 label.
The Matrix numbers are:
Side 1. 7TCE 888-1 H(?) AR
Side 2. 7TCE 889-1 (?)1 MR
