The BEATLES official 1999 REDO of the YELLOW SUBMARINE Album, this time with 15 songs from the movie instead of the 1969 SUBMARINE LP that only had 6 Beatles songs and Side 2 was George Martin instrumentals. That one always seemed like a rip-off marketing trick!! Although the 4 new songs on it were all excellent!! This newer 1999 version makes up for it. Pressed in UK/EU by EMI with 15 songs, now in STEREO. This was pressed on either Black or Yellow vinyl. Not sure what percent were Yellow but this one has YELLOW VINYL. This one is still produced by George Martin. Fantastic!! As always!! The 33rpm vinyl equivalent to the concurrently released US CD of the same album/cassette. EMI/Capitol/Parlophone trying to get the whole world in sync with the Beatles album catalog!! Another great iconic cover on a record album. Wonderful colorful Yellow Submarine image from the film. NOTE: I have this listed as Goldmine EX. A week ago it was Still SEALED, but the plastic had split in so many places that I removed it and found the vinyl to be YELLOW (rarer??). So this LP is known to be UNPLAYED (EX/NM) and the cover is EX awesome too. There are 2 stickers on the back side, and one on the front! They were under the sealed plastic. The Classic hit singles here are: ELEANOR RIGBY, YELLOW SUBMARINE, NOWHERE MAN, ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE, and BABY YOU’RE A RICH MAN!! Plus this includes the Original 4 newer songs from the 1969 album: ONLY A NORTHERN SONG, ALL TOGETHER NOW, IT’S ALL TOO MUCH, and the incredible HEY BULLDOG!! Of course every song is a classic, even today, over 50 years later. This now a great conglomeration of songs from Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt Peppers, and Magical Mystery Tour LPs!! The Beatles aimed at getting this LP to market following the huge re-release success of the Video/CD/DVD of the movie. This album on vinyl is probably the item that still increases in value yearly!! All 15 songs are originals by Lennon-McCartney (11) or Harrison (4). They all still sound so fresh, with Incredible energy from the Boys as they attack your ears with superb melodies and harmonies! This is a beautiful record, quite wonderful looking and sounding. Finally we get our money’s worth! The cover sleeve is well kept, in plastic cover since its purchase in 1999, by me. I quickly learned to handle them as little as possible, especially one of these “new” reissues which I thought would become rarer and greatly treasured!!
