Description
On offer here is an extremely rare complete 1969 UK original MONO one EMI box pressing of Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band by THE BEATLES. These one box Mono Parlophone pressings were made in very small numbers and were only available for a very short time before EMI stopped pressing Mono versions of Sgt Pepper a few months later.
The catalogue number is PMC 7027 and the matrix numbers are Side 1 – XEX 637-1 & Side 2 – XEX 638-1. Mothers & stampers are: Side 1 – MDL 2 & Side 2 – MOD 7. The record is strictly graded in VG condition, there are light marks and scratches on both sides but the record plays through really well as usual with these thick vinyl original UK pressings and sounds great with some occasional background noise but with absolutely no jumps, sticks, warps, dishing etc.
The correct original flipback Mono gatefold cover is also very strictly graded in VG-/VG condition. There is some corner and spine wear, a little bending and creasing, plus a small pin hole in the rear. Comes with cut outs insert in nice condition, with just a little wear.
This edition comes with a plain white ‘Patent No’ sleeve in VG- condition. The labels are nice with no tears, marks or writing, and with some light traces of spindle wear on both sides (see photos). A nice copy of a super-rare record - a rare opportunity to obtain a very scarce one box Mono Sgt Pepper, one of the most desirable Beatles rarities.
