THE BEATLES STORY DOUBLE GATEFOLD LP U.S. CAPITOL MONO TBO 2222 FIRST RARE PRESSING!
STILL IN FACTORY SHRINKWRAP!
Released in November 23, 1964, this is the rarer first pressing of this double LP (with Side 1 backed with Side 2, and Side 3 backed with Side 4)! These records were contracted to RCA by Capitol, and are substantially rarer than the more common 1/4, 2/3 configuration.
Amazingly, the 50-year-old double, gatefold cover is still housed in its original factory shrinkwrap - thus, the gatefold cover has NEVER been opened up! This is so exceedingly rare for this Beatles LP because fans at the time couldn't wait to tear open the shrinkwrap to see what lay inside the gatefold! Couple this with the overall rare nature of the LP (it didn't sell that well at the time and it contains the even rarer 1/2 3/4), and collectors have a great opportunity to own a very special Beatles item here!
Cover:  Excellent - brilliant colors (shrinkwrap has protected this cover very well!) - two very small staple holes in upper left corner where price tag was once affixed (they do not go through entire cover); bumping to lower right corner at opening; two breathe holes in wrap on both sides; slight discoloration at bottom of back cover (hard to tell if this is on shrink or cover); guaranteed to be the original shrinkwrap! Beautiful centred title and catalog number on spine. Rarer placement of "File Under" information (close to edge).
Records (visual) Very Good +:  (these records show some evidence of play; each shimmers like a mirror; original black rainbow label without "subsiduary" rim print;  there are superficial scuffs on each side, but mostly attributable to paper scuffing (unfeelable); original owner has neatly written name at top of labels of two sides; otherwise, labels are beautiful and clean Inner Sleeves: Excellent condition; original Capitol blue sleeves - NO seam splits!
