Description
THE BEATLES – SGT PEPPERS LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND, ALBUM FROM 1969 ON THE PARLOPHONE LABEL NUMBERED PMC 7027.
An album from what I can only call the anal retentive collection, as it is in such stunning condition the previous owner must have wrapped it in cotton wool.
THE VINYL
In 1969 only one record was issued/reissued in MONO on the YELLOW AND BLACK LABEL. It was only available for around a month and was withdrawn and the new style record labels were introduced, (EMI one box)
The MONO reissues of Sgt Pepper hardly sold what with “STEREO” being the new rage and mono being pretty much dead and gone.
This is a seriously rare pressing and according to popsike since 2004 only six have been sold on Ebay the last being in 2011.
I would like to grade this as MINT but again I can’t say if it’s been played or not, but it looks as though it has just come off the shelf from the shop, so I will have to grade it as N/M to be safe.
The vinyl run outs bear the matrix numbers
Side One = YEX 637-1
Side Two = YEX 638-1
THE LABELS
The same as the vinyl they look stone cold MINT but I will reluctantly have to grade them as N/M. YELLOW AND BLACK PARLOPHONE labels with NO “Sold In The UK” text but with “The Gramophone Co Ltd” text, and free of stickers, writing and spindle marks.
THE SLEEVE.
Again same as the vinyl and labels MINT but graded as N/M.
Fully laminated Garrod & Lofthouse, flip back sleeve, with all colours still nice and bright front, rear and inside, with no creasing or ring wear.
Vinyl is housed in a plain white inner and includes cut outs.
These don’t come up for auction very often especially in this superb condition so don’t miss this, you won’t be disappointed.
