IT IS ACCOMPANIED BY 1 / ARO STAMPERS MAKING IT AN EARLIER FIRST PRESSING. THE VINYL IS IN A VERY NICE CONDITION IN RELATION TO LABELS AND SOUND QUALITY. IN ADDITION, THE INFAMOUS FIRST PRESS RED AND WHITE FLAME PSYCH INNER IS COMPLETE AND IN VERY GOOD - EXCELLENT CONDITION. FINALLY, THE NEAR MINT PETER BLAKE INNER CUT-OUT IS JUST THAT, NEAR MINT.

THE LABLELS

THE SELECTED GOLMINE STANDARD FOR THESE MAGNIFICENT LABELS IS EXCELLENT +. ALL TEXT ON BOTH LABELS ARE NEAR PERFECT WITH THE EMBOSSED "KT" TAX ON SIDE 2 BEING MOST PROMENANT, AS IT IS PERFECTLY UNWORN. IT STATES THE GENERAL STAEMENT OF THIS ERA OF PARLOPHONE RECORDS WITH " SOLD IN THE UK SUBJECT TO RESALE...." ABOVE THE CENTRE HOLE AREA OF THE LABEL.

IN FACT, THE PHOTO'S BELOW WILL CLARIFY ANY DETRIMENT TO THE LABELS, THIS BEING APPARENT LIGHT SPIDER WEAR BUT NO CHIPS, SCRATCHES OR WRITING. IT IS MARVELLOUS TO SEE SUCH BOLDNESS OF COLOUR FROM THE YELLOW PARLOPHONE CREDITS. OVERALL, A CONSERVATIVE RATING OF EXCELLENT + ONLY AS A RESULT OF MINOR SPIDER WEAR OR WOULD BE NEAR MINT.

THE VINYL

THE VINYLS ARE IN A EXCELLENT CONDITION OVERALL, THIS MORE RELATING TO VISUAL QUALITY MORE THAN AUDIO AS THE SOUND IS EXCELLENT +. THIS RARE EARLIER FIRST PRESSING WITH STAMPERS OF 1 / ARO ON SIDE 1 INDICATES TRUE AUTHENTICITY OF THIS CLAIM. THE FIRST PRESSINGS OF MANY BEATLES ALBUMS WERE STAMPED ACCORDING TO THEIR CORRESPONDING PRESS MOTHER NUMBER. THEREFORE, THE EARLIER THE STAMPER (LOCATED AT 9 O'CLOCK ON MOST RUN OFF GROOVE AREAS OF A VINYL) THE EARLIER THE PRESSING. WITH SIDE 2 MATRIX STAMPERS OF 7 RLP, THIS WOULD INDICATE THE RECORD BEING PRESSED BETWEEN THE 400th AND 800TH ALBUM THAT WAS RELEASED, APPROX.

THE SOUND REPRODUCTION IS ALSO GREAT TO HEAR. THIS GROUND BREAKING ALBUM AS BECOME THE ULTIMATE INSPIRATION TO MANY MUSICIANS, FOR MANY YEARS, AND IT IS WONDERFUL TO HEAR IT WITH A GRADING OF 8 OUT OF 10 FOR CLARITY. IN FACT, I WISH I COULD GRADE IT HIGHER BUT WHAT IS STOPPING ME IS THE INCONSISTENT APPEARNACE OF MINOR CRACKLES EVERY NOW AND THEN. THE VINYL ON BOTH SIDES, REALISTICALLY HAS MOMENTS OF PURE NEAR MINT CLARITY, AND THEN EASES TO A LIGHT CRACKLE IN OTHER AREAS. FOR EXAMPLE, "SHE'S LEAVING HOME" IS QUIET AND MOODY, THERE IS ABSOLUTE MINIMUM PLAYBACK DISTORTION AND GRADES 9 OUT OF 10. WHERE-AS, TOWARDS THE END OF "A DAY IN THE LIFE", THERE IS SLIGHT CRACKLE WHEN THE NEEDLE IS APPPROACHING THE RUN OFF GROOVE AREA AND GRADES 7.5 OF OUT 10, EXTREMELY CONSERVATIVELY.

THEY STATE RUN OFF GROOVE STAMPERS OF 1 AT 9 O'CLOCK AND ARO AT 3 O'CLOCK, WITH XEX 637 - 1 AT 6 O'CLOCK ON SIDE 1.

FURTHERMORE, SIDE 2 HAS RUN OFF GROOVE STAMPERS OF 7 AT 9 O'CLOCK AND RLP AT 3 O'CLOCK, WITH XEX 638 - 1 AT 6 O'CLOCK.

OVERALL VINYL CONDITION IS CLARIFIED AT EXCELLENT FOR YOUR PIECE OF MIND AND INFORMED PURCHASE.

THE RARE WIDE SPINE COVER

THIS IS THE RARER MONO WIDE SPINE COVER THAT WAS RELEASED FOR A LIMITED PERIOD OF TIME, DURING THE PRODUCTION OF THE FIRST PRESSINGS. IT HAS SOLID FLIPBACK MARGINS WHICH ARE PERFECTLY BOUND. THE RARE WIDE SPINE IS FOR MOST PARTS STILL WIDE, WITH THE MAJORITY OF THE TITLE CLEARLY LEGIBLE. THERE IS SOME RUBBING AND CRACKING TO THE CORNERS AND LAMINATE BUT THE SPINE IS CENTRALLY BOLD WHITE.

THE REAR HOLDS PMC 7027 IN THE THE TOP RIGHT CORNER AND IS EXCELLENT - CONDITION WITH BOLD LYRIC PRINT AND BOLNESS OF COLOUR DEPTH. THE ONLY DETRIMENTS BEING THE SLIGHT PENETRATIVE HAIRLINES THAT ARE APPARENT ON THE LAMINATE. THESE AT MOST 2CM AND ORIGINATING FROM THE SPINE.

THE FRONT PORTRAYS THE BEATLES IN THEIR SGT. PEPPERS UNIFORMS, WHICH STAND OUT BEAUTIFULLY. THERE ARE NO SEAM SPLITS AND ONLY ONE LAMINATE CRACK APPROX. 1CM, THIS CLARIFIED FOR YOUR RIGHT OF AN INFORMED PURCHASE.

THIS SCARCE COVER WOULD THERFORE ACHIEVE A GOLDMINE STANDARD VERY GOOD - EXCELLENT. 

THE ORIGINAL PSYCH INNER

THIS FIRST PRESS INNER WAS ALSO INCLUDED IN THE ORIGINAL PACKAGE IN 1967 BEFORE BEING REPLACED BY A PLAIN WHITE INNER SLEEVE. THE CONDITION IS VERY GOOD + AS IT IS STILL AUTHENTICALLY CRISP, HOWEVER SLIGHTLY CREAMIER. IT LIES PERFECTLY FLAT AND HAS NO FRAYING TO THE EDGES, WHATSO-EVER. THE MARGINS ARE PERFECTLY BONDED TO THE PAPER AND HAVE NOT CURLED TO CAUSE ANY UNECESSARY RUBBING. THE MAIN REASON IT BEING DOWNGRADED TO VERY GOOD + IS THE ADDITION OF THREE SEAM SPLITS.

THE INNER CUT-OUTS

MANY AUTHENTIC FIRST PRESS PETER BLAKE CUT-OUTS, WERE USED VIGOROUSLY AT WILD PARTIES ALONG WITH THEIR ACCOMPANYING VINYLS. THESE ARE AS NEAR MINT AS YOU CAN GET, WITH NO WEAR, NO FRAYING TO ANY PERIMETER SEAM. NO MARKS, WRITING OR INDENTATIONS.

CONSERVATIVELY, EXCELLENT PLUS TO NEAR MINT.

The record has obviously been played a lot, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite surface marks and some light scratches. Also Use this grading where the record has suffered perhaps one more visible scratch, but is otherwise in EX or better condition.
The cover may be creased a little and/or frayed at the opening. You should itemize any more serious damage such as tears.

Buying or selling anything in less than VG condition is not recommended, if you sell records in worse condition, expect some to get returned, even if your descriptions were honest.

The record has been played so much that the sound quality has been affected noticeably, perhaps with some distortion and clicks due to scratches. The main place to use this classification is for picture discs, where the sound deteriorates more quickly with use.
