This is a complete original German stereo release of The Beatles 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' from 1967 on Odeon (catalogue no. SMO 81 045).
Apart from the sleeve and record it comes with the card insert and the original candy-stripe inner sleeve which as far as I know is unique to this release.
The laminated sleeve is in excellent condition with a perfect spine. On the back there is the 'printed in Germany' messages at the bottom right and the only blemishes are a few scratches on the laminate over the lyrics for 'A Little Help From My Friends'
The card insert is immaculate but possibly the most interesting aspect of this release is the candy-striped unique inner sleeve which is in excellent condition (a bit of creasing on a corner which should flatten out). It has the number 14337 stamped/embossed on the corner.
As far as the record itself goes, it would have been wonderful if it wasn't for a scratch over the last minute of side two. It plays without jumping but does have an audible click after the cacophony at the end of the track. The labels are perfect and the record is nice and shiny. A couple of surface marks over the first track on the first side but apart from the previously mentioned scratch it looks great and I would have graded it as excellent. The matrix numbers are SHZE 401 A1 & B2.
