Description

THE BEATLES SGT PEPPERS LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND LP MONO PMC 7027.

RARE MISPRESSING ON SIDE 2 "A DAY IN THE LIFE " OMITTED.

Although this is not a first pressing in the red/white inner sleeve it is a Second pressing, from 1967, (white inner sleeve) but a RARE VARIANT with the omission of "A Day In the Life" on side two record label. According to various websites this version is the rarest of all "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" UK Pressings. This variant (so far) has only been discovered in MONO format and as yet not found on a stereo version. This is probably the most influential album of popular music ever. The original release was on 01/06/1967. The album received 4 grammy awards. The sound in the loop is also the subject of much controversy , interpreted as some kind of secret message. If you let the record play to the end the message on the final groove says " IT REALLY COULDN'T BE ANY OTHER" but if you do have a system, which can be played backwards on the last grove you might be in for a big surprise . Obviously listen carefully for a naughty word!.  The Beatles were present during the mixing of the album in mono and the LP was originally released as such alongside a stereo mix. The mono version is now out of print on vinyl and was not officially released on CD. The two mixes are different. The stero mix of "She's leaving home"was mixed at a slower speed than the original recording. The mono version of "Lucy in the sky with diamonds" is mixed slower than the stereo version. (plus many other difference's).   When origanally pressed a limited number of these copies featured a label error on side two, "A day in the life" was omitted, but the track actually played on the record. This LP is in excellent condition, the vinyl still shines with no sticking or jumping or any deep scratches, a wonderful product. The white inner sleeve (see photo) is still in great condition. Both sides of the black labels are excellent, the yellow/silver lettering is outstanding (no writing at all). This LP has a wonderful mono sound and sounds fantastic. (I have not played this for 30+ years but tested the other day great to hear again wow!) The front album is brilliant (very small crease at top can only be seen in daylight). Open the album to see the middle with the fab four (fantastic). The back cover again is in excellent condition (small crease can be seen if held in sunlight). All the the edges are perfect accept for small (pin head) scuff at top/bottom of spine (not bad for an album of over 40 years !!). The spine has no splits. The "cut out" is still intact and is mint condition. Overall an excellent example of this rare UK mono "MISPRESSING" which has fantastic labels and delivers near perfect audio.

The LP will be packed in bubble wrap plus FOUR lots of very rigid cardboard (two on either side) and finished with brown paper.  This is my commitment with the packing the Royal Mail is out of my control but any problems on receipt of this item please return and I will give a complete refund.

Thanks for looking.
