Description
This is a highly unusual variation of label design on the mono first press ‘loud cut’ with -1 / -1 matrix numbers. Vinyl and sleeve are both in nice condition.
What makes this first pressing unusual is;
Side 1 label has an additional feelable ridge near the label’s outer edge.
Side 1 Label has Times New Roman font, side 2 has Sans Serif.
Side 2 has an “MT” tax code which was discontinued in 1963, 2 years before this album was released. I believe an MT tax code combined with Sans serif is in itself unusual.
The matrix no’s / stampers are:
Side 1: XEX 579-1 3 TO
Side 2: XEX 580-1 C36 TH ( the “C” is above the “3” which is above the “6”) Perhaps the “C” indicates a contract pressing??
Visually the vinyl looks VG+ / EX, and plays EX+. It is clean and shiny with a few light marks but no deep scratches. It plays absolutely fine with great audio and with no significant issues.
The labels are clean and free of handwriting. There are plenty of spindle traces but little wear to the spindle hole.
The EJ Day sleeve is EX, no splits or tears, no edge wear, fully legible spine, crisp edges to the opening. There is some light creasing and small area of laminate lift near to bottom left corner and light ageing to the rear
Original EMITEX rice paper lined Inner has no splits but there is a small piece of tape and handwriting to top corner.
The disc has been machine cleaned on my Pro-ject machine (using Pro-ject’s own alcohol free cleaning fluid) and comes in a brand new anti static lined inner.

Gradings refer to the UK Record Collector Magazine standard (shown below). I would only use "mint" for genuinely unplayed records. Visual grading is done under a spotlight. Play testing is done on my Pro-ject or Rega turntable.
If buyer is not satisfied for any reason please contact me, I will refund on safe return of item.
Record will be packaged in a proper mailer with stiffening. I will pack with the record removed from the outer sleeve.
Mint (M) - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records marked as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
Excellent (EX) - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good (VG) - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable
Good (G) - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc
