Description

What can I say about this LP (the music is sublime) except that it is becoming so rare now. This is a mono pressing from 1965 of 'Rubber Soul' by The Beatles on the UK Parlophone label (catalogue no. PMC 1267). It has the matrix numbers XEX 579-1 and XEX 580-1 in the run-off grooves on sides one and two respectively. The Garrod & Lofthouse flipback sleeve which is laminated on the front is in superb condition with a few minor creases on the lamination which are difficult to detect. The edges and spine are in fantastic condition with almost no wear at ll. On the back the flipbacks show virtually no wear and some minor discolouration along their edges while the unlaminated portion of the rear sleeve is hardly discoloured at all. The only blemishes on this superb sleeve are some writing in red ballpen beneath 'The Beatles' in the track listing box togetehr with some blue ball pen marks against each of the tracks in the same box. The sleeve gets a VG++ grading. The record features the yellow, black and silver Parlophone labels with the 'SOLD IN THE U.K. SUBJECT TO RESALE PRICE CONDITIONS, SEE PRICE LISTS' wording on both sides. The labels show some spindle wear because the record has been well played but, believe me, there is hardly any surface noise on any of the tracks (I've just played the record) and it's been very well looked after. I have graded the record VG++ as well because I want to be cautious. This really needs to be snapped up as soon as possible by a serious Beatles collector because you might never see it again in such wonderful condition. Good luck to serious bidders!!
