Beatles "please please me"
This is the original 1963 1st version uk black and gold uk mono
This album was released on March 22nd 1963. "Please Please Me" was the beatles FIRST uk album.
This is a great opportunity to aquire one of the most sought-after of all beatles vinyl, although it has some wear and tear it is in perfect working order. These copies do not surface for sale that often and are a great collectors item. I have been very honest with my description and have listed all flaws.
There are two versions of the black and gold mono, the first version incorrectly credits some titles to dick james music company on the corrected issues this was changed to northern songs
The label switch occurred because northern songs was formed midway through emi's first print run of the labels. Shortly before the album was released dick james informed emi that the titles in question would no longer be published by his company but by northern songs. Emi then pressed another, small batch of labels with the updated coptright details. As the first pressings were already in the warehouses awaiting release both versions ended up being issued to the shops.
This copy is the ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING version with the "Dick James" labels
The black and gold labels to both sides are in good condition. Close inspection reveals some spindle marks. The labels are spotlessly clean and bright all the gold lettering is still perfectly clear.
The glossy heavy weight vinyl has received some play therefore there are some handling surface marks and some hairline neddle marks. There are also some scratches on the surface of the vinyl
Apart from 'I saw her standing there' The audio plays perfectly with no distortion whatsoever.
On the track I saw her standing there, there are 2 little jumps, one just after the 1st verse and one just after the 2nd verse, these jumps however are hardly noticable but I must note them on the listing
The EMI Inner has some hand writing on it describing the record.
The outer 1st issue EJ DAY sleeve is worn around the edges and has slightly come away at the bottom edge. There are a few small stains on the sleeve also. All the text is still bright. The sleeve is intact and free from writing.
