Fourth/5th Press - type 2b (summer 1963 – January 1964)
Up to now, there are 8 different types of labels on the first edition of Please Please Me 1963 Mono UK LP: 1, 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e, 2f, 2a-e;
This is record with the last type/version of the label that came out up to now - 2b.
This ran alongside type 2a and was pressed on a spare machine that produced stampers  6-GPA / 4-GGR. Still very early side 2 stampers for this edition.
Just a very small change in the line up of the first 3 lines gives this pressing away as another set of stampers and a very rare set at that!
- Index of side 1 and side 2 are almost abutting under to "Recording First Pub.1963".
- Just a very small change in the line up of the first 3 lines gives this pressing away as another set of stampers and a very rare set at that! (first tree line Label side 1)
There is an embossed Unusually Early MKT Tax Code stamped clearly on the center of the Side 2 record label. (beatlebay.co.uk)

CONDITIONS

This original Beatles LP is becoming very rare and is very collectible, particularly in such perfect condition.

Record: Excellent/ Excellent - , Lovely deep gloss sheen, 2 very light surface faint scuffing side 2, no deep marks or scratches to either side. No jumps or stalls - a great sounding disc, but not mint, after storage for more than 50 years.Looking really nice! So hard to find original discs of this condition!
Audio: Excellent, plays fine, deep solid mono sound, with no sticks jumps or excessive surface noise, certainly a decent & very playable original UK copy. With couple light clicks and pops, between some songs, that is normal and typical for vinyl records more than 50 years
Inner sleeve: Excellent +, no tears or bends at all.Original Tracing-race-paper-lined “USE EMITEX” Type-3 die-cut inner sleeve. "USE EMITEX" Sleeve Type-3 (1963 -1966) has words  'Made in England'. The words "PATENTS APPLIED FOR" was removed from the sleeve.
Sleeve cover: Excellent, in fantastic condition with spine in great condition. First press original "Printed and Made by Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd London" with large MONO on front side. The sleeve is holding up fine with no splits or tears, or anything other. There is some light, general wear on the corners and a little, light browning on the back, as you can see. Nice example of this original, thick, healthy cardboard sleeve!
Labels: Unusual MKT tax code for early LP record Please Please Me. The labels are in VERY GOOD + condition. The labels are clean,  the text is bright and full readable, there are no tears, stickers etc. Both labels have just a little, faint spindle wear and a touch of whitening around the centrehole, you can see.
