Description
The Beatles ' Please Please Me' Mono PMC 1202 Gold/Black Labels
Here is the first pressing of the opening Record by the Beatles on the Gold Black label I record that is slightly more uncommon that the Common Black/ Yellow Pressings This copy has been played like so many of them its not a mint copy but plays well with some clean sound there are a few light problems but all will be listed below. I always list everything and if you can see what you need please ask always happy to help.
Please note if I have missed something please ask I am not a Beatles Fan and have listed for my friend as such you may need to ask there are Dick James Music Co Credits on the labels and everything points to First pressing but Mono
Cover
Well as the norm is not perfect Laminated to the Front with Flip-backs cover shows creasing to edges and some small amount of lamination has started come away along the bottom edge next to Photo name in Bottom right Corner. The corners all show some wear the bottom having a small 2CM part of the flip missing on rear back edge, some light dirt is shown on the rear sleeve, spine edge is text readable with all wear limited to corner areas. VG
If you want more scans of the sleeve just ask me.
Record/Vinyl
The Record looks like its been played over the years some light gloss remains but its clean to see its got marks both sides some Light handling marks some light hairlines and even some light Scratches, Side two having few more untidy marks the labels are clean but as shown side one has two marks where there was some sticks or something badly removed leaving some wear and loss of label texture both labels have light marking and some more noted wear to the Spindle area showing a little damage where some label has been worn. I would rather grade the vinyl as VG- its more marking that as collectors we would like that said please check my listing on playback as it is surprising good much nicer than some VG records I guess the pressing where very good.
Playback
I have played the Whole record before listing and I have to say it played better than I had even thought the record has been played over the years and handled many times but still sounding quite good for the most part as said above if looking for that Dream mint copy then this copy is not for you, but if you are happy to play the item and enjoy the pressing it might be worth checking.
The playback starts well with some light crackle the sounds is very strong as soon as the music starts there are some light pop's in few places but for the most the tracks play well I have noted a few small sounds on the third track there are some odd Clicks for few seconds this fades with odd few as the track ends. The rest of Side one plays well until the sixth track where you can hear a three second Hiss there is a mark that follows the track around for two grooves as such this is why you hear the noise, Last track plays as before. Side Two this side again starts well with good strong sound there is a little light crackle in places with the odd pop there is a mark on the fourth track but plays over fine this side plays well for the most part with some crackle in places but sounding strong as the tracks play over.

My Record Grading System (Based On UK Record Collector Guide)
I Try and play all my items before Listing Please Check my own Details Record/playback IfYou want to Ask Please Feel Free to do so Always Happy to Talk about Records.
I always give Clear Information on all items such as the Sleeves and Records,
Along with Extra items like Inners or Posters etc.
PLEASE NOTE I DON”T USE “MINT” MY HIGHEST GRADE IS NEAR MINT OR M-
(M) Rarely used unless Item is still un-open new. Mainly for new or Re-issue Records
(M-) OR NEAR MINT (A Fantastic Collector Copy)
Very Clean Item with little signs of use, looking almost as new both sides clean with No Scratches
or Surface marks there might be odd Paper marks. Should any copy fail to meet this grade I Prefer to list
down a grade but I always provide sufficient information.
(Ex) (Collector Copy)
The Record has clearly been Played shows some signs of enjoyment, Strong Copy Retaining Full Crisp sound.
Might be odd surface Line or Few Very Minor hairline marks or a few Scuffs. Playback would Still Be Ace with
no Playback Issues.
(EX-) OR (VG+) (Good Keeper Copy)
This Grade means that the copy may have slightly more signs of use but would always have Good Crisp sound.
It might have extra paper marks or Few Hairlines or even an odd Scratch this would not be Audible unless said
and how the Scratches affects the Record would clearly be listed.
(VG) (KEEPER COPY)
The Item has clearly been played many times but Despite Visual Marks Like Hair lines or Scratches and Some
Surface marks. The Sound Still Retains Good playback, if there is a scratch that Sounds I clearly indicate
where it occurs and how it affects the track playing time.
When I use a Grade less than VG it would normally be due to a record being very rare or a sleeve that I feel
does not fit with VG due to Repairs or damage mostly records under VG are Only Fit for the Bin. But if you
are unsure just ask.
