Description
Here is a rare original UK copy of The Beatles' debut album, Please Please Me, on the ultra rare black and gold Parlophone label. It is in nice condition, plays great, and comes complete with its original first press Ernest J Day flipback sleeve with the Angus Bean photo credit set to the far right of the final letter of 'songs' on the front cover text. Both sides of the disc's matrices end in 1N and the several Northern Songs credits show this to be the rarest of the black and gold variants. The vinyl is in VG- condition with various light marks to be seen when examined under strong halogen lighting, but certainly no deep feelable scratches which might affect play. I have tested this disc and it plays all the way through, both sides, with no skips and no jumps. The front laminated flipback sleeve is also in VG- condition with no unwanted writing but general age-related wear, including cornerwear. Black and gold copies of Please Please Me usually turn up in a terrible state with almost unplayable vinyl and tatty torn covers; this example, as you can see from my photos, is clearly one of the more presentable survivors. Good luck if you are bidding - and don't forget to check out my other items. Treasured items such as this are posted tracked and carefully packaged with the vinyl removed from the sleeve to ensure they reach you as they leave me.
