Description
Very RARE original Capitol Records 5255 "Matchbox" b/w "Slow Down" picture sleeve with the 45 rpm single. Finding this picture sleeve in any collectible shape is very difficult... this copy is very nice.
Visually graded at VG++ (sleeve) and VG+ (record) using the Cox/Daniels "Price Guide For The Beatles American Records" grading standards (6th edition). See my photos. Spizer version CAP 5255.01A (record) and 5112.PS1A (sleeve). Awesome addition to any Beatles collection.
The east coast "straight cut" sleeve has no writing, no tears, no seam splits, no stains, and no mold. A small sticker (looks like a jukebox sticker) near the top of one side and the faintest signs of minor partial ringwear. The sleeve is folded properly but is slightly off-center. Very minor wear is noted along the bottom seam.
Original orange/yellow swirl Capitol label with NO "Subsidiary of Capitol Industries.. " text and it was manufactured at Capitol's Scranton, PA plant. One side of the record has 3 parallel very faint scratches which are only visible when held to a bright light at just the right angle. See photos.
