Description

THE BEATLES: LP BEATLES VI (Parlophone CPCS 104). This is the very hard to find UK pressing of this classic Beatles LP, which was produced in the UK to be sold in certain European countries and was never available domestically. This is the very first issue of this album, which has the black labels with the silver print and the yellow PARLOPHONE logo (issued in 1966). This record is housed in the beautiful laminated outer “flipback cover”, printed by Garrod and Lofthouse. The disc is in a very nice condition with a superficial scuff on side one which does NOT affect play, and a bit of scuffing in the dead wax on Side Two. Very conservatively I would grade this as VG+++. I have played it and as it was taken from the US masters, the sound is wonderfully crisp and clear (and LOUD)! Of course the disc does not jump or stick, though there is a degree of hum and hiss inbetween the songs (something I have heard on each and every copy I’ve had). The ever so important matrix numbers are: YEEX 112-A15 (Side A) and YEEX 113-A15 and a scratched-out ST 2-2451 number (Side B). Both sides have an R in the dead wax at 3 o’clock and the digit 1 at 9 o’clock. The labels are superb, with only minimal spindle wear, NO damage, only very light writing on side one (see scan). In the perimeter rim is the wording “The Gramophone Co Ltd”. The cover is great, NO writing, NO stickers, only a small light brown tape remnant on the back (see scan). The front cover colours are vivid, there are several ‘under the laminate creases’, unfortunately so typical of most UK 1960s album sleeves, and the back is beautiful and has retained its original bright white shine, no dirt. I would grade the cover a very strong VG+++ also. The disc comes in a poly-lined inner sleeve which has a reminder to use Emitex to clean and preserve your records –something the previous owner very probably used!-. In short, a splendid copy of this very rare album!

Tracks on this LP are: Side A: Kansas City, Eight Days A Week, You Like Me Too Much, Bad Boy, I Don’t Want To Spoil The Party, Words Of Love. Side B: What You’re Doing, Yes It Is, Dizzy Miss Lizzy, Tell Me What You See, Every Little Thing.

The LP will be shipped in a very thick and solid cardboard packing. I have managed to keep it just under 500 Gr, which means that postage for this record inside Europe is £4.00 (shipped Priority Air Mail), outside Europe it is £8.00 (also Priority Air Mail). Registered and/or insured shipping available on request. Payment by PayPal or in cash US $, UK £ or Euros (sent at your own risk). Priority Air Mail shipping usually takes 5-7 working days. I cannot be held responsible for parcels which are lost in the mail. In over 2,000 transactions, however, not a single parcel was lost, so bid with confidence.
