INCREDIBLY RARE "LET IT BE"
LYRICS/MUSIC BOOK
This copy of "Let It Be" comes in a gatefold sleeve rather than the more common single sleeve.
· COVER: Gatefold Cover: AR 34001 with the much rarer Red Apple logo on the rear. Condition is very good - no writings/ddodles. Some ringwear, a faint price sticker mark and a 2" wear line to the inside of the gatefold's spine. No seam splits and only minor bumping to the corners.
· LABEL: The Red Apple Label (AR 34001) is excellent. Just 1 very small stylus mark near the centre on Side 1. Dead wax has Phil + Ronnie and 'Bell Sound' markings - identifying this as the genuine article i.e. an original USA 1st Pressing and not one of the many counterfeits that were later pressed.
· VINYL: The vinyl very good - just a few light marks and would benefit from a good clean.
· PHOTO INNER SLEEVE: The photo inner sleeve is from a later pressing (Capitol SW-1192) but I like it so much I felt it goes with the original pressing better than the bog-standard plain white inner sleeve. The sleeve is in excellent condition.
· POSTER: The large poster also comes from the later (Capitol SW-1192) pressing but once again I think this is a much better addition to the original LP. The original, of course, was not released with a poster at all. The poster is excellent - near mint.
· BOOK: This package comes with the incredibly rare original A4 size lyrics/music book that was released in 1970 to accompany the LP. I'm not even sure whether it has ever been re-printed since then - I have never seen another copy anywhere. It is 64 pages long and includes a selection of additional Let It Be session photos by Ethan Russel (the Let It Be photographer) and the words/music to Let It Be. It is printed and distributed by Warner Bros in New York. Original price was $3.95!! It has the original RED APPLE logo on the rear cover. The book is complete - no missing pages. The cover has some minor wear to the edges and spine. The original owner's name is on the blank first page - so it does not interfere with any of the photos/text. There are no other writings or doodles to spoil your enjoyment of this very rare book.
Considering this LP is now 36 years old, it is a really nice
example of a very rare LP. An extremely rare package that any
Beatles collector would be proud to own.
POSTAGE: £7.50 (UK), £10 (EUROPE) & £15 (REST OF THE WORLD). This includes compulsory insurance - I have had a couple of items damaged/gone astray recently (the British Postal Service is not infallible) and I cannot afford to send this item uninsured.
