Description
This is the rare Canadian box set (SOAL-6351 - part of the popular Capitol 6000 series) released in May of 1970. It includes the "Get Back" book that contains over 100 glossy photographs taken during the filming of "Let It Be", most of which are full color and unavailable elsewhere. The LP cover is a heavy cardboard construction style that is of single-pocketed design. The record label consists of the standard green side/sliced side Apple. The Apple logo on the back of the LP cover is also green and there is no mention of ABKCO on these Canadian editions. The back of the box says "Distributed in Canada by Capitol Records (Canada) Ltd.". "Phil & Ronnie" is written in the "dead wax" (Thanks to Jeffrey Levy of AppleLog for this description).
This box set was quickly replaced (due to the steep cost) with a single LP which was also numbered SOAL-6351. However, this second version lacks the white borders around the pictures of the Beatles on the back cover and it uses a smaller font size for the print. In short, the LP for sale here with white borders is the one that originally came with this box set. The book is also the one that originally came with this box set since it contains the export copyright sticker inside of it.
Condition:
SLIP COVER: Virtually new except for a few very minor creases (VG++)
INNER TRAY: Except for a few small tears, like new (VG+)
LP COVER: Light rub marks on front and back (VG+)
VINYL: Like new (NM)
BOOK: Like new (NM)
BUYER PLEASE NOTE: The book has never been opened and if you decide to look at it, do so carefully since the spines of these texts crack easily and the pages start to fall out. My friend bought his copy when it came out in 1970 and soon the pages were falling out. Also, when this package is shipped to you, the book will not be placed in the tray since this will damage the tray.
