Les Beatles 1965 French LP original issue on the orange Odeon label No.OSX 228-issued in 1965 and comes with the, often missing,rare insert that makes up the front cover and in this case the even rarer lamp sticker that only appears to have come in a handful of these and now barely any survive-one of the rarest foreign Beatles LP covers,especially with the insert and the sticker,and arguably the rarest French issue overall.(The sticker has the same artwork as the insert but peels off a backing paper and can then be wrapped around a lamp cover.)
The cover has various creases and nicks and has little bits of restoration but looks well reasonable and is one of the best covers I have seen as they are usually poor.There is no tape or writing and the only weakness in feel is the spine which feels weak and has some minor paper loss-nevertheless the print on the spine 'Beatles Odeon OSX 228' details remain clear and that is also a rarity!Grades at VG+ certainly.Because the way the cover is put together it is notoriously hard to find complete and in a decent condition as here.The insert has one tiny crease but is near perfect and grades at EX+ as does the sticker.The disc is in great condition and looks virtually perfect and very clean.The only blemish is a small name having been written on the top of both labels-that apart great and grades at EX+.
Overall a fair grading would be EX+/VG+ to EX(aka Record Collector gradings)and this is a really excellent copy of a very rare LP-one which has rarely survived in this condition and being totally complete.
