ORIGINAL PRESSING (2LP)

STILL IN SHRINK

ONLY ORIGINAL TAKRL COPY ON EBAY AS OF 9-22-2016.

This is a first pressing NM / NM copy of the TAKRL 2950 double LP titled “Hahst Az Son” after the supposedly finished 1968 Beatles LP titled “Hot As Sun” to which the master tapes were all stolen prior to being pressed.  Rolling Stone Magazine published an article that named tracks whose titles were at the time unknown lending credence to the rumor. (See below for additional information for “Hot As Sun”).

The tracks on “Hahst Az Son” are from January 2 to January 9, 1969, recorded in London’s Twickenham Studios and filmed for “Let It Be” (though some tracks were left out of the film).  SIDE ONE:  Two of Us (2:03 version), Don’t Let Me Down, When You Get to Suzy Parker Everybody Gets Well Done, I’VE Got A Feeling, Get Back (2:08 version), Don’t Let Me Down (Reprise).  SIDE TWO: Practices & Sound Checks: Be Bop A Lula, She Came In Through The Bathroom Window, High Healed Sneakers, I Me Mine, I’ve Got A Feeling, One After 909, Norwegian Wood, She Came In Through The Bathroom Window (24:10 total).  SIDE THREE:  Let It Be (By The Numbers), Shakin’ In The Sixties, Good Rockin’ Tonight, Across The Universe, Two Of Us (2:00 version), Mama, You’re Just On My Mind.  SIDE FOUR: Tennessee, House of the Rising Sun, Back To the Commonwealth, White Power & Promenade (Pakistanis), Hi Ho Silver, For You Blue, Let It Be (2:12 version).

Stored vertically in a smoke free environment for 44 years.

More info on “Hot As Sun” stolen LP from the Ars Nova Music web site:  “There are still deep rooted rumors about a Beatles album that was recorded between the months of February and May 1969. An issue of the music magazine “Rolling Stone” (September 17, 1970) first brought attention to this mysterious album, but the article was swamped with various guesses and vague information, presenting what seemed to be a puzzle to Beatles fans. Of course, as with any good unsolved puzzle, it became a legend.

According to the rumors, the master tape of the Beatles next album was stolen by an unidentified member of the Abbey Road studio personnel, and asked for a large amount of money from Beatles for its safe return. The thief is then said to have mistakenly carried the tapes through an airport x-ray machine, where they were promptly wiped clean. Of course, a legend such as this seems to deliberately seal the fate of the missing album, assuring that its mysterious contents would never reach the ears of curious fans. But it is 2010, a long forty-one years since the “Hot As Sun” tapes were supposedly wiped from the face of the earth. A lot can happen in that amount of time – urban legends can be reborn and evolve greatly.

The “Hot As Sun” legend still lives on. The lost album’s tracks were supposedly (in order): 01. Maxwell's Silver Hammer (3:42) 02. Don't Let Me Down (3:11) 03. Hot As Sun (1:24) 04. Junk (2:22) 05. Polythene Pam (1:24) 06. Octopus's Garden (2:51) 07. I Should Like To Live Up A Tree (1:00) 08. Zero Is Just another Even Number (1:09) 09. What's the New Mary Jane (2:35) 10. Dirty Old Man (2:56) 11. Madman (1:15) 12. Watching Rainbows (3:33)."
