A rare opportunity to acquire a much sought after Signed Limited edition of Fifty Years Adrift of only 2000 copies ever made. The book is written by the Beatles publicist Derek Taylor and Edited by George Harrison, who also wrote the forward. The book is signed by George Harrison and Derek Taylor. This edition is No.1248 of 2000. The book has never been reprinted.

 

Fifty Years Adrift was launched in Australia at The Sydney Opera House with both Derek Taylor and George Harrison in attendance, before travelling on to Auckland New Zealand for further promotion where this copy was purchased on the 28th of November 1984 on the occasion of The Literary Luncheon attended by George Harrison and Derek Taylor.

 

 

Fifty Years Adrift was the subject of glowing reviews; The Beatles Book Monthly described it as, 'Probably the best Beatles-related volume ever'. The book contains a wealth of beautifully reproduced memorabilia including photos, song writing sheets, bookings for concerts and letters written by John, Paul, George, Ringo, Brian Epstein, George Martin and Derek Taylor.

 

The book is hand leather bound, gold gilt tooled on the spine and front with gilt page edges. Measures 25cm by 19cm and has 545 pages on antique laid paper and a reproduction Monterey Pop Festival Ticket as a book mark. This edition is in near perfect condition, there are some minor scratches/ shelf wear on the cover and slip case, the pages are pristine.
