Description

"CRY FOR A SHADOW / WHY" Orange Polydor lable, Made in UK.

Please check my feedback before bidding. Recent buyers have been kind enough to say how well graded my records are. They have found that a "Near Mint" record from me is indeed "Near Mint". I am a collector of The Beatles and I assume that my buyers share my high standards. Items recently sold by me with "Excellent" grades have been re-sold by dealers as "Near Mint" or even "Mint-". Most of my buyers receive an item of far better quality than they expected. My gradings are always accurate and not overgraded, based on my system detailed below.

GRADING SYSTEM:

"MINT (M)": A "MINT" record will be in perfect condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. "MINT" lables will show no spindle or hole wear. A "MINT" cover, and any extra items, will be in perfect condition. As most of my records are 40+ years old, I grade "Mint -" for items which are as close to mint as possible.

"NEAR MINT (NM)": A "NEAR MINT" record will have a few very light hairlines from being removed from the sleeve, but no heavier marks, scratches, jumps, crackle or pops except unavoidable "vinyl" noise (records are not CD's !). "NEAR MINT" lables will show very little spindle or hole wear, typically less than 5 spindle traces. A "NEAR MINT" cover will have very light wear, but no damage. A " + " or " - " added to the grade gives further detail.

"EXCELLENT (EX)": An "EXCELLENT" record will have only light, superficial marks, and some light wear. Audio will be slightly affected with a little background noise. No jumps or skips. "EXCELLENT" lables will have more than 10 spindle marks, and/or wear around centre hole. An "EXCELLENT" cover will have some wear and/or creasing or discolouration, possibly a small amount of staining and/or some neat writing e.g. owners name. A " + " or " - " added to the grade gives further detail.

"GOOD (G)": A "GOOD" record will have been played many times, and will show some obvious deterioration in sound quality, with surface marks and the occasional light scratch. It will play through without skips or jumps. "GOOD" lables will have many spindle marks and/or hole wear and/or writing. "GOOD" covers will be worn with marks and/or staining, creases, writing or other damage. A " + " or " - " added to the grade gives further detail.

"FAIR (F)": A "FAIR" record will show multiple marks and/or obvious damage to lables. It may not play through, but may stick or jump occasionally. A "FAIR" cover may have tears and other obvious damage, writing, staining etc. A " + " or " - " added to the grade gives further detail.

"POOR (P)": A "POOR" record can only be regarded as a gap-filler in a collection.

POSTAGE AND INSURANCE:

Items are sent AT COST PRICE - POSTAGE PLUS ABOUT £2.00 PACKING.

I think I pack my records better than anyone on ebay. Valuable LP's are sent in proper boxes with extra corner protection. You will be impressed with my packing, but it also adds extra weight, and therefore extra cost. The buyer should pick the post service required for adequate insurance. Items sent uninsured are at buyer's risk. I will always obtain a certificate of posting. I recommend buyer always chooses minimum "SIGNED FOR" and preferably "INSURED" delivery. In case of an item being lost or damaged in the post, I will forward all details and certificates of posting for the buyer to make a claim.

POST RATES:

Please note, I will always use SIGNED FOR DELIVERY, with optional insurance, and will invoice winning bidder accordingly. Non-signed for delivery can be arranged AT BUYER'S RISK.
