Description

BEATLES COMPLETE 1965 STAR LINE SET: ALL 6 45s + MINT STARLINE SLEEVES + BONUS!

October 11, 1965 was a “Green Letter Day” for The Beatles. On that day, Capitol Records released six 45s under their Star Line label (sometimes spelled as one word, so I did it both ways above to help in your search).

Today, these green swirl discs are among the most prized in the group’s historic catalog.

And you can win THE ENTIRE SERIES! Plus, a Bonus (see below).

At this point, you’re wondering about sleeves. If the six discs came with original company Star Line sleeves—generally worth more than the 45s themselves—the total value would be well over $1,000. Other auction sites can bear this out.

Instead, to keep costs down, I am listing this series with Mint Condition sleeve reproductions, FREE--NO EXTRA CHARGE! They are crisp, clean and flawless, made of a heavier-stock paper, and will make an excellent presentation with your records.

However, I do also have original company sleeves, and will be listing them in separate auctions.

So…Here’s what you get:

6061   Twist and Shout / There’s a Place

Amazing sound after all these years—as clean as they come! The label has writing on the A-side and very minor ringwear. And…it’s the rarer East Coast label with thin print.

6062    Love Me Do / P.S. I Love You

From the same previous owner as “Twist and Shout,” with the same writing, this time on a West Coast thick-print label. It also offers superb sound.

6063            Please Please Me / From Me to You

According to research, this East Coast pressing is the rarest and most sought-after disc in the entire Star Line series. And it sounds great! The A side has just the slightest ringwear; the B side is a bit more shmutzy, with a very small name.

6064          Do You Want to Know a Secret / Thank You Girl

Another of the rarer East Coast pressings, with sound like you just brought it home from the record store, and only minor label wear with initials on the A side.

6065  Roll Over Beethoven / Misery

Yep—another of the more-desired East Coast pressings, with excellent sound. The A-Side label has a piece of tape and the B side just one little handwritten letter.

6066   Kansas City / Boys

A terrific-sounding East Coast pressing with age-appropriate wear on both sides and a couple of initials on “Boys.”

PLEASE NOTE: All net proceeds from this sale will be placed in a Special Needs Trust Fund for my son, who suffers from a Traumatic Brain Injury as a result of being hit by a motor vehicle. Your bid is appreciated. However, it is not a charity and there are no tax benefits.

DISCLAIMER: Beatles records are fragile and more than a half-century old. Each has been play-tested once on a newer Sony turntable used only for that purpose. They are being described here in complete, honest and accurate detail, and are sold “as is.” I cannot, therefore, be responsible for different results due to the buyer’s own equipment. If you initiate a return and I find that your reason is valid, I will offer a refund or replacement. Your satisfaction, along with my 100% Feedback, are very important.
