Description
This is The Beatles as they were always meant to be heard. Don't be fooled by all that digitally remastered crap -- these are all the original recordings from the greatest band of all time just as they intended you to hear them.
This is the Australian version of this box set, originally released in 1979.
While virtually all the records are in excellent condition for their age (a few of them have never been played because we had other copies in the family collection and the "white" album has some issue -- see below), the box itself is pretty ragged and victim to a poor repair job back in the '80s with sticky tape (see pics). Sorry!
So, this is not a mint set for a hardcore collector, but rather for a newcomer to vinyl who wants to get all these masterpieces in one go at probably the cheapest price you'll find anywhere.
As mentioned, basically all the discs are in very good to excellent to mint condition. The one exception is the "white" album which has slight surface marks on sides 2 and 3 and an actual scratch across the opening couple of tracks of side 4. It is also missing the insert poster and photos.
But apart from the faults on the "white" album and the flimsy box itself, this is a very good beginner's set. Happy bidding. Enjoy -- a splendid time is guaranteed for all!!!!
