This is the the Capitol Records ST2656 1971 pressing of the '67 Beatles Song Book Volume 4 still in it's original shrink w/ MINT labels.
This is the first and only copy I have ever seen of this ST 2656 Beatles pressing. I know these labels are Super Ultra rare, but this one has never been seen before, and I've looked everywhere for this issue. This may be the only ST2656 for sale anywhere in the world !!

In May of 1971 Capitol Records began issuing Beatles albums on the newly designed Red label variation. Almost immediately the pressing of these albums abruptly ended when Apple Records announced that they were going to re-issue all Beatles albums on their label. At that point there were an unknown number pressed and probably less 100 pressed in total.  The actual pressing numbers is still a mystery to this day!

What is known is that in May of 1971 Capitol Records unintentionally created an extreme rarity by halting the pressing of these rare issues
The first documented copies of these Capitol red label with purple gems were discovered in 2006 and are listed in Frank Daniels and Perry Cox' Price Guide, published by Bruce Spizer. Seemingly gone unnoticed, amazingly, this happened 35 years AFTER the pressing date!

Almost all the red target LPs that you see for sale are Canadian pressings, which were very common. The USA pressing is fairly non existent, and any LPs that are offered up for sale, which is rarely, are usually priced in the ten of thousands simply because of their extreme rarity. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to add this almost non existent USA Capitol red target LPs to your collection for a faction of it's worth. You can look everywhere, on every Beatles site, and you just won't find this one for sale anywhere, at any price !!

Located on Shawnee Drive, with nearby Capitol Lane, the Winchester plant was more automated than the Scranton facility, Spizer says.
One of the other motivations was the cost-savings they had by getting this Winchester plant online and phasing out Scranton, said Spizer. Spizer says the records pressed in Winchester were clearly differentiated from albums made in other plants. Capitol’s different factories had different markings, says Bruce. Winchester had something that collectors had always described as something that looked like a thin-stemmed wine glass, but in reality was a crude drawing of a Winchester rifle, according to Bruce Spizer.
