The Beatles :- Can't Buy Me Love c/w You Can't Do That

1964 UK Parlophone R 5114 7"  45rpm Single

A very rare example of  an EMI / Oriole Records contract pressing

Due to the huge demand for Beatles singles at time of issue  , EMI had to contract out to other companies pressing facilities to be used to manufacture  Beatles discs - in this case "Can't Buy Me Love" - These pressings are easily identifiable by their 'solid centres' (**not to be confused with the 1966 EMI pressings**)  and the double band recess near the middle of the label - Please see photo's

To date there are two other known Oriole pressings - 'I Want To Hold Your Hand' and 'I Feel Fine' - These three singles rarely show up - Great collectors items .....

 Matrix  7XCE 17657  - 1N (two dots beneath the N)   /  7XCE 17658  - 1N  (two dots beneath the N)

Mother  KT over 9  /  KT over 10

No Stamper lettering

The Disc has some moderate use / play wear evident .... there are a few light / mild (silent) marks on side one (nothing heavy) , side two just has a couple of light traces .... The labels have mild use , and are quite clean , some spindle sheen .... The disc has mild lead in groove noise  on side two , but then plays through well : Graded at VERY GOOD  condition.

The  Disc comes with the original Oriole Sleeve it came with at time of purchase - a large collection with many Oriole samples and test pressings in the collection , all had Oriole sleeves , so I believe it was added at time of manufacture .........

I usually start auctions at a low price to generate interest in bidding

All items are graded Audio / Visually , and played on a high grade system

Please feel able to bid with confidence , as a collector myself I understand the requirements in the gradings of discs and sleeves , and how important it is to recieve items in the condition as advertised

I grade items ( using the UK Record Collector Grading System) beneath a light , to be sure of condition

I do not believe it is necessary to use the eBay buzzwords such as STUNNING !! RARE !! AWESOME !! , padded out with grossly long winded 'descriptions' ..... Many of the 'experts' who use this method of selling also add technical information , which is totally unfounded and does not correspond with the actual facts , and would be laughable but for the fact it is totally misleading. I take time and care to graded items correctly , and only list quality records , with concise , accurate grading descriptions

I have been a lifelong music fan , my first concert visit was in 1957 (Birmingham Town Hall Skiffle Contest !) and have bought records of all the great music since 1959 , and had the privelege of seeing most of the great artists 'live' ( I saw The Beatles twice and Segovia !)

I began selling professionally in 1976 , and have a wide knowledge of the items I sell (and always learning !) having bought copies of my own at time of issue , always being interested in the sleeve , label and disc variations. If you have any queries , I will do my best to answer correctly

Please check my feedback ratings , you will see that a large amount are from repeat buyers ( many thanks !) .... and in the event of genuine complaints will remedy the situation as soon as possible

All items carefully packaged using proper cardboard packaging (I do not use low quality preformed mailers)

The discs are placed seperately from the sleeves within the package to avoid splitting or damage . Items are sent promptly - usually within one working day of payment .
