The Beatles – A Hard Day’s Night – Genuine 1966 UK  pressing– Stereo with yellow & Black Parlophone rim labels and with ‘Sold in UK’ Catalogue number PCS-3058.

This is a Third pressing, 1966 until 1969. Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. front laminated cover, with small “stereo” on front. Black label with yellow logo and silver print. “The Gramophone Co. Ltd.” printed at the start perimeter print and “Sold in U.K. subject…” text. Tracing-paper-lined “Use Emitex” die-cut inner sleeve. With or without KT tax code on the label. Matrix numbers: Side 1: YEX 126-1; Side 2: YEX 127-1.

Variation B. Sans-serif print. Matrix number is shifted relative to the date.

A seminal album and one of their best - ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ was the first album where artist and composer wrote and performed all their songs.

Labels:EX !!!

The  labels are bright, without any markings or writing but show light scuffs consistent with frequent use.

A fresh set off labels . There is evidence of faint spindle trails to each label, but the record has received very little play in it 50 year history.

The  letters ‘K T’ are embossed around the spindle hole on side one on the label!!!

There  are wispy hairlines and light scuffs on both sides but the disc retains  its deep glossy, black vinyl sheen.

The  spindle hole has white edge scuffs, but is still firm on the spindle.

Play:EX !!!

This record has not received much play in its lifetime. All music signals are unworn and distortion free. There is however some light static audible but this is mainly masked by the music. It is however more evident on some of the quieter passages. As the record has been stored for many years the audio may well benefit from a professional clean. The record does not jump or stick.

Please Note: A clean on a Proper Cleaning machine, would help a Great Deal to IMPROVE ON SOUND QUALITY, SO THIS RECORD CAN ONLY GET BETTER!!!!

EX-!!!

The  front laminated glossy front/matte back   an original 1966 Garrod & Lofthouse patents pending photo cover, is intact.

The front panel is  grades at EXCELLENT.  There is however a minor bump  to the low left hand corner. The rear panel is free from  writing, with some age marks.   I would conservatively grade the back cover at excellent-. All in all this is a very well preserved cover with an overall grade of excellent-. The spine is undamaged and in EX condition.

All LPs are graded visually and conservatively under many bright lights. Questionable marks are play graded.

GRADING:

Factory Sealed/ Brand New: Never opened with original shrink wrap on it!!!

Mint:  New condition...Look like new, no flaws whatsoever. Cover will look like it has just has been removed from shrink wrap.

Near Mint: Played One or Two times, no flaws, but a remote ever-so-slight amount of that shiny luster may be gone.  Jacket will be virtually flawless, slightest signs of wear, maybe one bumped corner, or a hint of edge wear.  

EXCELLENT

This Item  may have some marks like -light scratch or light sleeve scuffing, that may sound briefly in a quieter passage.   The jacket may have the very lightest signs of ring wear ,

some light corner or edge wear.

VG+: Very Good Plus. This record will have some light marks(light scratches and light sleeve scuffs), and it might make an occasional pop or crackle in parts, but will not even come close to overwhelming the listening experience.  Still a very desirable grade... As for the jacket, it will start to show more signs of wear than a VG++ jacket, the ring wear may be slightly more evident, the edge wear or corner wear may be more defined as well.

VG: Very Good. The record may have several scratches and scuffs, though aside from some popping and crackling, will still be an enjoyable listen. No skips here. The jacket will have far more wear than the previous grades, such as:  edge wear to the point of some minor seam splitting (the kind that can be repaired with tape or other means), ring wear (not terrible, but still distracting from the image), edge and corner wear, minor writing or a few stickers, or other similar defects.

VG- : Not terrible, usually represents 1 or 2 "ugly" marks or scratches, might be a little sketchy in a few spots, other than that would fair as a VG record.  The jacket will show wear - ring wear, seam splits (still should be able to be taped up for repair), some writing and/or stickers, edge and corner wear, or other similar defects.
