The Beatles' Third Christmas Record 7" Fan Club Flexi-disc
You are bidding on an original and very rare Beatles Christmas record from 1965. These were issued free to members of the Beatles Fan Club are now very hard to find. This one is in good condition and played well the last time I put it on. The cover is missing but it has been kept in a clear plastic sleeve.
Each year from 1963 through 1969, the Beatles recorded a special Christmas greeting for their fans. The Official Beatles Fan Club in England sent flexi-discs containing the Christmas messages to its members each holiday season.These recordings offer a unique time-capsule glimpse into the personalities and evolution of the Beatles from 1963 through 1969.
Several off-key, a capella versions of "Yesterday" are dispersed throughout the record, alongside Lennon's "Happy Christmas to Ya List'nas", "Auld Lang Syne", a one-and-a-half-line version of the Four Tops "It's The Same Old Song", which they quickly stop before they violate the copyright, and an original poem titled "Christmas Comes But Once a Year". A second version of "Auld Lang Syne" segues messily into a cover of Barry McGuire's "Eve of Destruction".
