THE BEATLES
Help!
Very Rare FACTORY SAMPLE Press!

This listing is for a very rare and highly collectible FACTORY SAMPLE copy of the Beatles LP Help! on the Parlophone label!

I've heard three stories as to what a Factory Sample sticker meant. The first reason was that an EMI employee wanted to by a copy using company discount. A Factory Sample sticker was stuck to the labels so that the employee couldn't then go take it to resell at full price. The second reason is that, every so often, a copy was taken from the production line, had a Factory Sample sticker stuck to the label, and then sent off to quality control. The third reason is that a copy was given a Factory Sample sticker and then sent out by EMI as a promotional / demo copy for radio stations and record shops to play and promote the release.

Whatever the reason, genuine Factory Sample stickered copies of Beatles records are very hard to find and are highly collectible! Due to the quality of todays printers, fake FS stickers are everywhere as people try to add value onto standard presses. However, please be assured that this is a GENUINE Factory Sample copy. Check out the detailed photo at the bottom of the listing for a close up of the FS sticker on the disc.

A great opportunity to pick up this incredible Factory Sample copy!

Please check out large, detailed photos of this record at the bottom of this listing.

Title Help! Year of Release 1965 Catalogue Number PMC 1255 Label Yellow / Black Parlophone with 'Sold in UK' statement and 'Gramo' rimtext Tax Code on Disc KT Sleeve Manufacturer Garrod & Lofthouse Side 1 Matrix Number XEX 549-2 Side 2 Matrix Number XEX 550-2 Side 1 Stampers 5 / PD Side 2 Stampers 18 / PR Cover Condition The cover is in VG condition. The sleeve is holding up fine with no seam splits or any real damage to the spine bar a few little creases running through it. The front has creamed a little with a little creasing, but nothing at all bad or serious. The back is a little worn and slightly browned as you can see in the photos below. There are two rubber stamp marks for A1 Stores in London and what looks to be a signature (most likely of a previous owner). As you can see in the photos below, the cover is looking very nice but showing its age a little. But holding tight. Inner Sleeve Condition The inner sleeve is in G condition. The original tracing paper line Emitex inner sleeve is included. It's browned a little creasing and disc impression. The seams have split in the middle on all 3 sides. Inserts Condition - Disc Condition
(VISUALLY GRADED) The disc is in G+/VG- condition. The disc has a nice shine to it but the disc looks a little worn and has lights scuffs and marks all over along with a couple of slightly heavier looking scuffs. There's one scratch at 7 o'clock on side 1 through the first track and half way through the second that I can feel under my fingernail. Label Condition The labels are in VG+ condition. The labels are clean but look just a little tired. There's some light spindlewear and a touch of whitening around the centrehole.
