This auction is for a rare Tollie US 45 Love Me Do / P.S. I Love You, Tollie T-9008. This is the mega rare white label advance sample DJ promotional copy of the single!
Tollie was a subsidiary of VeeJay, who initially owned the publishing rights to the Beatles’ early songs. Their final Tollie Beatles single was Love Me Do / P.S. I Love You, catalogue number T-9008.
Although the earlier Tollie Beatles single Twist and Shout did not appear to have promotional discs pressed for it, Love Me Do did. Two differing promo discs were issued – one with a basic block Tollie logo, and one with ‘Tollie Records’ within a clockwise box logo. This latter design is the more harder to find out of the two and is the disc being offered.
Demo copies of singles were distributed to various radio stations and music stores to help promote the forthcoming single. They were only ever issued in very tiny amounts and never sold to the public. The companies that received them usually disposed of them when they were no longer required.
Today it is near-impossible to find this mega rare promotional disc! 100% genuine disc with the ARP scripted machine stamp and the Audiomatrix machine stamp in the deadwax.

The playing surface has an okay shine to it but has a lot of light scuffs along with a few slightly heavier looking marks and surface scratches. Not trashed, but shouldn't really be considered as a play copy.
