Please be aware that all records are VISUALLY graded only - all grades are given based on how they appear under my desk lamp - since I do not own a record player. I cannot guarantee that discs will be click and skip free, although any marks and scratches that might possibly cause such problems will be highlighted clearly in the description.

This is one of the rarest and most collectible Beatles singles ever to be issued in America!

Before the Beatles made it big in America in early 1964 VeeJay signed the group to their label after George Martin unsuccessfully tried to get the Beatles' music released on Capitol records. The first ever official US 45 was the VeeJay single Please Please Me / Ask Me Why (VJ498) and, as Capitol predicted, it completely bombed, selling just 7,500 copies overall. Undeterred, VeeJay decided to issue another Beatles 45 with the songs From Me To You / Thank You Girl (VJ522) which, once again, completely failed to sell, scraping up to just 116 in the charts. It wasn't until the third single (Please Please Me / From Me To You - VJ581) that they succeeded, released as Capitol were whipping Beatlemania up into a frenzy with the release of Meet The Beatles. This third single was massive and hundreds of thousands were sold and, today, are very easy to find.

The first two singles, however, are near impossible to find as only a few thousand copies ever sold - and that's just the stock copies! This is the mega, mega rare PROMO pressing of the Beatles' VeeJay single From Me To You / Thank You Girl (VJ522). VeeJay only ever manufactured a tiny, tiny amount to send to select radio stations and record shops to promote the single, and most of these would have just been binned after it was no longer being played to and no longer required.

The playing surface has a little shine left in it, but the disc is very worn and well loved with a lot of scuffing and marks. Not completely trashed, but very marked and should be considered a collection filler.

The labels have yellowed and have some rubbing and light stains as you can see in the photos above. I think they tell the best story here. Worn, but still completely readable.
