This auction is for a copy of the Beatles single I Want to Hold Your Hand / This Boy, on the Parlophone label. This is the extremely rare and mega collectible Oriole contract pressing with solid centre!!

Back in 1963 pretty much every single that was issued had what was known as a push out centre. This was so that the centre could be easily removed so that it could be loaded into a jukebox. 99.9% of copies that were ever manufactured back in 1963 all had the pushout centre.

However, it seems that Oriole, a record manufacturer that was contracted by EMI to produce a small number of copies to help keep on top of demand, produced a tiny, and I do mean tiny, number of copies that did not have this push out centre, and was in fact solid instead. I don't know if this was intentional, or if this was an error at the factory, but these solid centre copies amount to just the tiniest fraction of overall copies that were ever manufactured and, today, are near-impossible to find!

Incredible rarity and mega collectible!

The Company Sleeve : VG++

The original company sleeve is holding up really nicely. It has some a fair amount of light creasing here and there and has browned a little, but overall it's holding up fine with no writing, splits or tears or anything. Looking nice!   Disc (Visually Graded Only!!) : VG+

The playing surface is looking nice with a decent shine but does have some light scuffing all over, a little moreso on side 2. There're also some slight heavier looking scuffs but there's nothing bad or serious. Looks played but not abused. Nice condition!
.

Labels : VG+

The labels are looking nice with bright, silver text. Side 1 label is clean but side 2 label has two small stickers on it. There's some light spindlewear and a touch of whitening around the centrehole. Overall, though, very nice labels!
