This auction is for a very rare original 1963 pressing of the Beatles Parlophone LP 'With the Beatles'. This particular pressing carries the very rare DOMION label error for 'You Really Got A Hold On Me'!

When this LP was initially released it carried a number of errors. Track 3 on side 2 was mis-spelled as "You Really Gotta Hold On Me" and was credited to Dominion Mus. Track 7, Money, was also given the publishing credit for Jobete NCB. When these errors were corrected two more snuck in. The first was that the Dominion credit for You Really Got a Hold on Me was mis-spelled as Domion and also, the letters NCB were mistakenly left on after the Dominion Belinda publishing credit for Money. Unlike the previous two errors, which are quite easy to find on the original, the Domion and NCB errors are much, much harder to find!

Comes in an original large stereo sleeve with the Gotta misspelling on the back.

Whilst going through my collection to sort out what to sell, I actually discovered that I had an original mono copy of With the Beatles that had the same name on the sleeve as this one does on the label - Guilbert Christiane! I think it'd be nice to keep these two albums together and so I'll include it in this lot!

The Cover : GOOD

The cover is showing some wear and tear but, overall, is holding up okay. The front has a little dirt buildup on the laminate and has a lot of creasing in the laminate as you can see in the photo above. There's some light browning in the pale bar at the top and some light rounding of the corners. Top and bottom seams have a few little laminate creases running through them but haven't split or torn. The spine, again, has some laminate creases but there's no splits or tears and is pretty much fully legible. The back cover has yellowed somewhere. There's a small amount of light browning around the outer parts and there's a grey rubbing on the left by the George Martin credit. The overflaps have some laminate creases in them but are stuck tight. Overall, a little wear and tear but holding okay.   Disc (Visually Graded Only!!) : G+/VG-

The playing surface has quite a good shine to it and has some light scuffing and marks. On side 2 there are three light but prominent scuffs / light scratches. Two at the 5 o'clock position that go over the opening three tracks and one at the 7 o'clock that goes through the first four. They're pretty light and I can't feel them under my fingernail but I can't say whether not they'd affect play..

The labels are looking really nice with bright text. There's a fair amount of light spindlewear and a touch of whitening around the centrehole. The side 2 label has a piece of paper glued on with the name GUILBERT CHRISTIANE written on it.
