The Beatles - 'Please Please Me'. PMC 1202

The Beatles 1963 UK 3rd FACTORY SAMPLE DEMO pressing of the 'Please Please Me' album. Released on the 22nd March 1963, this is the very short lived 3rd label design variation. It is offered here in solid VERY GOOD/VERY GOOD+ condition.

These initial early factory sample pressings would have usually been given out to reviewers, radio stations or used as quality control within the pressing plant.

This label design was issued briefly during mid 1963 and was once again changed towards the end of 1963. 'Please Please Me' is the only Beatles album issued with this particular label design. Released on the yellow and black Parlophone label both sides feature 'The Parlophone Co Ltd.' rim print and OMIT the 'Recording first published 1963' text as found on the much more common 4th pressing. The 'MT' tax code is embossed on the side two label. The vinyl is housed within the correct and original 'Emitex' inner sleeve. The cover is the very earliest variation in which only the two gold and black label designs and this 3rd label design came housed. It can be identified by the 'photo: Angus McBean' text being positioned to extreme lower right hand corner. It appears much further left on ALL future issues. A rare and sought after variation of The Beatles debut album.

Side 1. XEX 421-1N 2 MC

Side 2. XEX 422-1N 1 MG

The vinyl is in VERY GOOD/VERY GOOD+ condition. Both sides of the vinyl have been play tested with NO faults crackle and the occasional tick can be heard.

Both labels are in EXCELLENT- condition. Some light wear/fading to the sticker.

The sleeve is in VERY GOOD++ condition. 'Rosemary Harrison 21st June 1963' written neatly on the rear. Probably the purchase date.

The inner sleeve is in EXCELLENT condition.
