BBC TRANSCRIPTION SERVICE LP containing
WAVENDON ‘72
MR ACKER BILK AND
HIS PARAMOUNT JAZZ BAND -1
and
CLEO LANE SINGS
This LP (CN 1616/S) which dates from 1972, features
CLEO LANE singing:
THAT CERTAIN FEELING; DR DAVID MANTLE; TO MUSIC;
GO AND CATCH A FALLING STAR; LORELEI;
PERDIDO and IT’S A PITY TO SAY GOODNIGHT
and
MR ACKER BILK AND HIS PARAMOUNT JAZZ BAND playing:
SOUTH RAMPART STREET PARADE; OLD COW HAND;
STRUTTIN’ WITH ST.BARBEQUE; A TASTE OF HONEY;
SOMERSET and BASIN STREET BLUES
NOTE the ACKER BILK programme is a
half hour excerpt from Waverdon ’72.
The original, slightly creased BBC continuity sheets are included,
together with a photocopy of the BBC catalogue page.
The disc plays well, even though the Acker Bilk
programme has been played several times.
Both sides have a couple of light scratches and blemishes.
