Roberto Conrado, Piero Montanari - Bass modulations

Italian pressing, Octopus OPT 0291 (1973)

Totally killer Italian library by the drummer Roberto Conrado and the jazz bass player Piero Montanari. A couple of tracks (Coweb and Way on) were comped on Schema label's Scoctopus compilations, but the whole LP is great! Has progressive funk track with killer drum breaks and wild flute solos and has two weird modulated vocals scat jazz numbers. Record also includes some amazing Italian modal jazz tracks like "Way on" or "Puzzle" or the psychedelic double bass driven "Range in" or the solo bass "Pledge". My favourite track is the trippy "Nibble out" with its psych feeling. Listen!
