played July 12th at Ebbets Field with the AL winning the ballgame 11-7

features some of the biggest names to ever play
the game including Jackie Robinson and Warren Spahn
Ted Williams and Joe Dimaggio and Pee Wee Reese

these home-recorded & one-of-a-kind records
contain audio recordings of a radio broadcast of the
first 2-Innings of the 1949 MLB All-Star Game which was
a historic game marking the first time black players were
selected for an All-Star Game & appropriately the game was
held at Ebbets Field in Brooklyn where Jackie Robinson had
democratized Major League baseball two years previously

the African-American Players selected for this game
included Jackie Robinson and Roy Campanella and Don Newcombe
for the National League and Larry Doby for the American League
and many felt that the new diversity of talent would finally tip
the scales for a National League win, but this game belonged to
Joe DiMaggio who had a single, double & 3 runs batted in
and while DiMaggio had been injured early in the season and
wasn't thought to start the game, AL Manager Boudreau chose
him as a reserve but started him when Tommy Henrich was
injured & this turned out to be one of the smartest
and sneakiest moves ever in an All-Star lineup

the 1949 All-Star Game was the 16th All-Star Game
and was played at Ebbets Field in Brooklyn, New York and
the Starting Pitchers were Mel Parnell and Warren Spahn
and the Managers were Lou Boudreau and Billy Southworth
with Coaches Bill McKechnie, Burt Shotton, Muddy Ruel

in Very Good + Condition & has been fully play tested
and sounds ok but these sorts of home-recorded records
never have the best sound quality because the sound is cut
into a very thin layer of plastic-ish material not allowing for very
deep grooves. they also tended to wear out easily. we have
included a sound clip so that you can get an idea of how this
sounds. the clip is representational of all the records, but
do expect surface noise & imperfect sound.

note that 78rpm Records are Extremely Fragile
and require extra packing materials, making for a heavier
package requiring higher than usual shipping charges
