1963 ~ ABC 399 ~ Mono ~ ABC Paramount "Full Color Fidelity" ~ Original First Issue

VINYL : Excellent (EX):  A few faint hairlines. Heavy, inflexible, black & shiny. Pressed deep, sounds great!
 
COVER : Excellent (EX): Small red letters stamped in top right corner on back. Shiny, laminated front cover. Opening edge shows minor wear. Lamination remains intact. Seams & spine intact. Very slight ring wear (not much). Very vivid colors on front. Tiny split & corner damage at right end of bottom seam

INNER SLEEVE: Original early '60's ABC-Paramount.  No marks.

LABELS : Very sharp, no marks. Original black ABC-Paramount
 
BEAR SAYS :  All songs written by legendary Brill Building songwriter Barry Mann. His debut LP includes versions of gems like "Footsteps", "I Love How You Love Me", "The Way Of A Clown", "Bless You", and "Find Another Fool". Great production by Don Kirshner. Most folks bought the 45 (single) of "Who Put the Bomp". Copies of this LP, especially in this condition, are very scarce in 2008.

A SIMPLE VINYL GRADING SYSTEM :

Mint: Still Sealed/Unplayed/Unopened/The Holy Grail
Mint minus (M-): New and Possibly Unplayed ; a rarely used grade.
Near Mint (NM): Like-new, with little or no visible wear; very collectible, very rare.
Near Mint minus (NM-): almost like-new, perhaps very slight signs of age, play or wear that are strictly cosmetic.
Excellent (EX)/Very Good double-plus (VG++): Way above average, very nice, no serious flaws; played, not abused.
Very Good plus (VG+): An above average used LP; a few visible surface marks or paper scuffs; slight surface noise.
Very Good (VG) : An average used LP, far from perfect; a few light scratches. Some noise; plays through, no skips.
Very Good minus (VG-) : Reveals lots of wear/noise when viewed or spun but is not actually defective or warped.




LP Cover grading is a much less exact, more subjective science. Generally, the truly collectible grades range from Mint to Excellent (VG++) depending on general wear. Main cover flaws such as split seams or spine splits, ring wear, cut or bent corners, hole punches, writing, water damage etc. should always be mentioned in a proper auction listing. All records are professionally sight-graded, sometimes play-graded. Keep in mind, used LPs are very rarely found in actual "Mint" condition. Proper record grading involves skill, knowledge & honesty, not wishful thinking.
