Description

This is a fine copy from an early (1979) reissue of the sole LP by Boston garage group the Barbarians, originally released in 1965.  The group stood out at that relatively early date for the length of their hair (referenced in their modest hit, "Are You a Boy or Are You a Girl?," which kicks things off here) and the fact that their drummer had lost one of his hands in an accident and played with a metal prosthetic (the subject of "Moulty," his nickname, which follows the hit on the LP and was later included in the epochal 1972 garage comp Nuggets).  The other notable original is the failed anthem "What the New Breed Say."  Among the covers that round out the LP are two brief Latin instrumentals, suggesting that the group didn't take themselves too seriously.  The cover art, it's worth noting, has been changed, the group shot on the front replaced by four stills from the group's breakout 1965 performance on the T.A.M.I. show.  The jacket is all but M- with some light corner, spine, and seam wear, and a little staining on the back cover (EX+).  The disc is clean, and plays with a little light surface noise (M-).

I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.

If you'd like to order multiple items, I'll happily combine them so that you won't have to pay multiple shipping charges.
