BAND OF LIGHT “Total Union” LP RARE Aussie prog blues

Band of Light – Total Union LP (orig. Australia Warner Bros. STEREO WS-20011, gatefold cover)

Release date: August 1973.  Recording dates: March - May 1973.

On offer here is an EXTREMELY RARE original issue of the first album by Sydney-based rock band, BAND OF LIGHT.  Musically we’re talking HEAVY BLUES ROCK with PROGRESSIVE influences.  The dynamic lead vocals of Phil Key (ex-LA DE DAS) and the dual slide guitar work from Phil Key & Norm Roue (pre-BUFFALO) ensures this album is a winner.  Check out the YouTube link below!

GRADING (also refer photos)

Cover (matt finish):

front: EX+ insignificant handling wear only (few creases along spine, very minor scuffing along bottom seam), tiny staple holes (bottom-right near opening edge).

inside gatefold: EX+ impressive—hard to fault, tiny staple holes (bottom near opening edge on each side).

back: EX light ring-wear, tiny staple holes (bottom-left near opening edge).

Record:

EX visual: beautiful glossy sheen—exceptional overall, some hairlines only; audible: sounds great despite some underlying surface noise (VG++ to EX), many dealers would grade disc as M-; Aussie 1970’s WEA vinyl product was manufactured with recycled material, therefore some underlying surface noise is unavoidable; labels: light to moderate spindle wear.
