BAKERLOO - Bakerloo ORIG Harvest LP SHVL 762 (UK, 1969)
Happy to present the classic original Harvest press of Clem Clempson’s first project before he joined Colosseum and later, Humble Pie. There’s some immense guitar work on this LP, one of the reasons it has become a much sought after part of any British progressive, blues or Harvest collection. Matrices : A 3-U / B 3-U
The outer laminated original gatefold sleeve, made by Ernest J. Day is in overall VG (Very Good) condition with no splits or tears, but mild to moderate corner wear, particularly on the upper front left corner which is bumped and frayed. There’s not much creasing only two finger creases to the front and a corner crease to the back. A previous owner has written his name neatly in the inside gate, which also displays some minor and small staining to top and bottom edges. Generally pleasing and remains flat with intact laminate, though some shrinkage from the opening edges.
The original green Harvest labels are WITHOUT the EMI logo and show moderate spindle marking, showing the disc has been played, but not battered. No writing on the labels.
The vinyl is not perfect, but has been listened to and is a solid player with only minor imperfections. Visually, it grades VG- (Very Good Minus) showing plenty of light scuffs, hairlines and a few noticeable scratches, mainly on Side 1. Not mint but a presentable not ugly disc.
It plays without jumping or sticking, but there’s around a half dozen scuffy ticks on Side 1/Track 2, 2 clicks between tracks 4 & 5 on the same side, and some prolonged crackle on the quiet intro to Side 2. There is some underlying surface noise, particularly between tracks and during quieter passages. Otherwise it plays with strong, clear audio, no distortion and hardly any loss of clarity. Still a solid player!
One of Harvest’s great classics, supplied in its original company inner sleeve. Low start, no reserve!
