Description

Mega Rare Original 1974 Harvest Records UK TRUE 1st Pressing (A1//B1 Matrix) 'Amar Caballero' by the Awesome Babe Ruth!!! Absolutely Stunning Unblemished 1st Press Thick & Chunky Vinyl!!! Complete with 1st Press Laminated Garrod & Lofthouse Gatefold Sleeve!!! Amazing Lost Progressive Classic on Harvest!!! Very, Very Rare as a True UK 1st Pressing and Almost impossible to Find in This Condition!!!

You are bidding on a STUNNING UK Harvest 1st Pressing (A1//B1 & 'Gramophone Co.' text) of 'Amar Caballero', by the awesome Babe Ruth! What can I say about this record - it is pure bluesy progressive bliss from start to finish!!! If you have never heard this band before - this is the place to start. Formed in Hatfield, UK, this band featured the powerful bluesy vocals of the beautiful Janita Haan. As more people are discovering Babe Ruth,  you will soon be paying big money to own this, a Mint- Harvest 1st pressing of Amar Caballero.  What make this particular record so very rare is firstly that it is the EARLIEST UK Harvest 1st Pressing, secondly it is in STUNNING Ex++ vinyl condition!!! Firstly and perhaps most importantly, it has the correct A1//B1 matrix identifying it as the first record pressed from the master. Secondly it has all the correct label information; with the inclusion of the rim text beginning with 'The Gramophone Co.' As it was made after the EMI box was introduced to the label - this record was never made without the EMI logo.  Is also important to note that this record is fully complete with its TRUE UK 1st press non-laminated Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold Sleeve and UK patents inner sleeve!!! When this album turns up today it is almost always trashed; in terrible condition with lots of marks & scratches etc. This one IS NOT!!! Aside from being the true UK 1st pressing, what makes this one SO rare is its STUNNING condition!!! It has no marks to the playing surfaces whatsoever save for the almost invisible paper line and that's it!!! This record grades as a Ex++!!! You will not find a better 1st press example of this Prog. Classic!!! A truly beautiful 1st press example of this increasingly rare album, don't miss it!!! Again, I cannot stress how rare this album is to find as a true Extra Thick & Chunky UK Harvest 1st press with A1//B1 Matrix and non laminated Garrod & Lofthouse Gatefold Sleeve!!!

1st Press Matrix:

Side 1 - SHVL 812 A1

Side 2 -  SHVL 812 B1

The Classic yellow/green centre labels are in great condition with NO Tears, NO Peeling, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind!!! There are just some spindle traces and that's it!!! The gramophone rims containing the all important matrix's are MINT!!! This record was only pressed in very small quantities back in the early 1970's. And most of these UK Harvest 1st pressings were played to death and only turn up today full of scratches with a dull sheen and totally worn out. This one is NOT and the record stills retains a beautiful deep mirror-like sheen!!! The thick & chunky super heavy 1st press vinyl is in superb condition!!! It has NO Scratches, NO scuffing, NO Groove-wear and NO warping!!! Just the standard almost invisible wisps from removing the disc from the inner sleeve, almost invisible unless holding the record up to a window and completely non sounding!!! The record still retains ALL its original gloss and shine and has NO dulling and NO nasty greying of the grooves!!! ITS AS SIMPLE AS THAT!!! This record must PROPERLY grade Excellent if not better!!! I refuse to over-grade any of my records!!!  It also plays superbly, nice and quiet with just the very occasional and very low level pop, that can only be heard between tracks and can in no way be heard over the music, except for the very quietest tracks, such as 'Baby Pride', where there is very faint background crackle. I refuse to over-grade any of my records!!! The classic 1st Press matt un-laminated Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve is simply stunning!!!!  Due to non lamination, these sleeves suffered severe wear and always turn up worn out and really nasty looking with bashed corners and splits etc. This one however is simply stunning, and is the best 1st press sleeve I have ever come across, (it is much better than most of the later sleeves!!!)  It retains ALL of its factory pressed satin textured finish!!! There are NO Tears, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind!!!  The corners are super sharp retaining and it has retained 100% of its just pressed box shape (I have tried to show this on the images) It is completely blemish free. This mega rare sleeve easily grades as Excellent, it's as simple as that (most would grade it Nr Mint but I prefer to under-grade!!!)  Comes complete with its ORIGINAL Inner sleeve with correct 'Patent No' and 'Made in Gt. Britain' text. The inner is perfect with NO nasty creasing, NO discolouration and NO writing/scribbles!!!!!! This really is a one off chance to own a superb example of this the scarce UK Press of this rare and classic Harvest LP. This record hardly ever turns up nowadays. Check out our feedback and bid with confidence as this is a no reserve auction with a very low starting price!

A little note about insurance - Please read carefully... If the value of your record(s) is over £30, your invoice will include an insured option. Being the responsible adults you are, it is entirely up to you to take this up  - we strongly advise you to do this but will not hassle you about it. You either add the required insurance or you don't. If you do add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will get a refund. Refunds & Feedback ... Please read this carefully ... We try to give you the best quality examples of rare records available. However, there will always be somebody out there whose expectations far exceed UK record collector grading standards.  If you are in anyway unsatisfied with your record or our grading of it please refer to the UK Record Collector Grading Chart very carefully BEFORE emailing us. We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards. This will very rarely, if ever, happen. We will not be impressed with buyers disputing our gradings without even bothering to check the UK record collector grading standards chart first - you have been warned ...

Buyers who continually Haggle, Whine and Moan to try to decrease the price they won their auctions for will be blocked from bidding on future auctions and can toodle off down to HMV or Virgin where they can harass the counter staff there.

We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback. In an ideal world we would like to leave feedback as soon as the record has been shipped but due to feedback blackmail in the past (i,e, ",,,I want a partial refund or I will leave negative feedback") we have opted to take this measure. Contact must be made within 3 days of winning the auction. If payment has not been received after 10 days a non paying bidder alert will be placed. If payment is then not received within 7 days Negative feedback WILL be left and the buyer WILL be given a strike by eBay. Thanks for reading.
