Description
Record : 'Atomic Butterfly' (de Wolfe DWS/LP 3199) - 1971 Condition (Rec/Cover): M-/M-
'Funky Spider' kicks off with a lovely midtempo beat and then just drops into superb funky R'nB! Fred Wesley style horny horns, lovely ragtime piano and a dollop of New Orleans soul all in the cooking pot! 'Cool Character' is just sleazy brassy funk - The horns sound just like 'The Isrealites' by Desmond Dekker! Very cool but wait till it completely changes into a choppy JB style funker - Complete with ace ivory tinkling!
'Hip-Tank' carries on with the same vibe as 'Cool Character' on the A-Side - But now we've got a kerazee synth over the top. 'Midnight Country' is lovely - so is the jazzy flavour of 'Mighty Mouse'.
So you have a really varied, top notch library - oh and its got LOTS of loops and beats tucked away...
